When I was blowing off a driveway it stopped and the cord doesn't move. Lost receipt and store won't return it now

I worked for Home Depot for 23 years. When we started doing small repairs in store, one of the biggest things wrong we found was fuel related. First almost all small engines recommend "pure gasoline" meaning no Ethanol! If you do use a fuel with ethanol, you need to use a fuel stabilizer to deal with the ethanol and keep the fuel viable. Be sure to mix the oil/gas in the correct ratio. They now sell fuel ready to go right in the tank. At the end of the season you need to run the blower fuel tank dry. There are products designed to be used to over winter 2-cycle engines. A little good maintenance goes a long way towards a long way to extend the life of the engine.

Starts, Runs , then bogs down and will not run in full throttle

Asked by: Fnbguy
If you have had this for a while the problem is most likely the spark arrestor is clogged. It's a very simple fix. If you look at the muffler you will see a small port sticking out where the exhaust comes out. These are usually threaded and have a nut so you can remove them. The spark arrestor keeps sparks from flying out and starting a fire in the leaves you are blowing. It's just a small cylindrical mesh filter. They get clogged. Take it out, Soak it in some gas and use a file or other scraping tool to remove the carbon build up. Once it's fairly clean, reinstall and it should work fine. To test it, start it and put your hand in front of the muffler and feel if you're getting good exhaust from it. If not, that's likely the problem. If you do have good air flow coming out then you have another issue.

my blower is a year old, and the cord is too easy to pull, and won't start. Has fuel, and spark, but pulls easy. Homelite 150,from Home Depot.

Mine had same issue, found faulty spark plug had an air leak up the porcelain center reducing compression and allowed the ignition coil to burn up. Replace those cheap Torch plugs with NGK or Champion. Also change coil as it has probably failed as well.
