Can I use this oil for a non honda moped

Asked by: Clifton
Clifton- If the moped takes 10w-30 then there should be no problem. There is oil made more often for Mopeds however. Thank you for your question.

I have a pressure washer with a Honda engine. It calls for 10W30 API Service SJ type oil or later. All I have been able to find is SN type oil, is this oil SJ type? I cannot find where is says what is on this page and i'm not sure what "or later" would be classified as.
Asked by: bozo0005
Hello bozo0005, The bottle says "API service classification SN", but I know what you mean: I have a mower with the GCV 160 engine and the manual calls for the SJ type oil. But I've been using this exact oil for all the oil changes I've done on it so far without any problems whatsoever.

I have inherited an older Honda generator "EM-5000sx". It calls for SAE 10-30 with a rating of either SF, or SG. Is this oil right for it?

Can I use an API SN oil in place of recommended API SJ oil?

Can I use an API SN oil in place of recommended API SJ oil?
Asked by: Guy
I just researched this myself for use in a new Honda generator. Honda says we must use SJ "or later," which I found out means that any letters that come after J in the alphabet will be fine (preceded by the S, of course). I can't find any SJ -- all I have been able to find is SM and SN, and both will be fine for this application.
