The Honeywell Superior Allergen is made of a reinforced pleated media with a large surface area which improves the efficiency of its dust-holding capacity. The unique construction of Honeywell Superior Allergen filter requires less energy for lower energy cost. Its electrostatic charge helps attract particles "magnetically" that otherwise would pass through. Housed in a recyclable clay-coated moisture resistant frame, this filter captures particles as small as 1 micron. In comparison, a human hair is approximately 100 microns in size. The Honeywell Superior Allergen is effective against the following contaminants: dust/lint, airborne dust mite debris, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, bacteria, microscopic allergens, virus carriers and most smoke.

Less pleats, flimsy, and poor quality
I bought four 20x25x1 7-FPR filters and when I noticed the difference between the old and new one, I returned all four back to the store.
The old filters had 27 folds, but the new ones have only 22 folds (less filtering surface).
This makes the new filters flimsy, less efficient, and with less support points it can easily bent and crumble inside the furnace.

Buyer Beware
We have been buying Honeywell filters for years. I ordered five online to have them shipped to my house. Once I tried to install the new filter, it would not fit. Notice the name on the actual filter had Flanders. Home Depot does sell Flanders AC filters for about $4 a filter. I am very disappointed! See the pictures below.

This thing attracts dirt
The last filter was horrible, a different brand, I needed a good one cause I had dust everywhere. This filter is doing the job...really well, inoticya difference within a couple days and am pleased. Would buy again

not true to size
I have been using the FPR 7 version for years. These FPR 9 filters are a 1/2" shorter on one side than the FPR 7 filters.

Good filters
Been using these a few years or so. Replace every 60 to 90 days. The last one I pulled out was coming apart. Like a hair ball on the intake side. thank goodness it wasn't the other side.

The filter buckled and bowed into the blower motor area.
The card board frame just buckled when using the A/C. This has never happened to my Filtrete filters. I bought this filter based on the filtration performance claims. After buckling there were large gaps where air by passed the filter. It was difficult to get this filter out after it buckled.

The 12-pack is a great value. But the quality is nowhere near the ones I've used before. ALL of the them lasts around 2 weeks (3-4 hours of use per day) and then it deformed.

The Honeywell FPR 7 air filter seems to work best for me. I like the higher FPR rating than the budget ones that I use to buy. I've been using the Honeywell filters for a couple years and I am very pleased with their performance. Although I check them every month, these will last for 90 days (probably longer). So, they are actually cheaper than buying the budget filters that last a month. I highly recommend these filters
