I am SOOOO frustrated with these thermostats. Temperatures dropped and they wont work!! no matter if you change it manually or thru the app, it's 19 degrees outside and my house is 66 and dropping and neither of my 2 thermostats will work, they do send alerts saying the temperature is lower than my set up but they wont start the heating, I have changed batteries and reset them a zillion times, even marking I am "leaving the house" and then marking I'm back and SOMETIMES they start working for a couple of hours after spending good 45 minutes rebooting them unplugging them etc, then temperature goes down again and it wont go up. The app and the thermostats have the legend of "heating" but they dont. I decided to do a factory reset in one of them and oh nightmare I can not even add it back to the app anymore, it is not even showing temp or anything really!! what a piece of trash!!! I just can not believe a company like Honeywell (where btw I work for at some point in my life) would manufacture such a piece of junk!! what a way to trash your name and your costumers trust Honeywell!!!

this brand is overrated and overpriced, don't buy it !!!

We built our house and moved in in Feb 2019. This is the system that came with the house. 2 days ago I came in the house and the heat hit me hard. I go over to the thermostat and it’s not only off line, there is no reading and the device is scorching hot. We had a heating and air come by, because it was 100 degrees in my house. The heating and air rep checked wiring and fuses, no problem. The problem is with the device. Please contact me in these regards

We installed our Honeywell Lyric thermostat 8 months ago and could not be more pleased. It has surpassed the high end thermostat that came with our new HVAC system, and the only regret we have is that we didn't buy it sooner as we have saved money on our energy bills. We love the geofencing technology, which allows us to adjust the temperature while away and brings it to our preferred temperature on the commute home. The Lyric app is easy to use and allows us to adjust anything at any time.

I love it! I installed the Lyric Round Thermostat about a month ago. It was simple to install and set-up. It took about a forty five minutes with removing my old thermostat, installing the Lyric and programming everything. (My WiFi didn't want to cooperate so it probably would have taken a half hour.) The heads up display senses motion in front of it and lights up every time you pass by it. The numbers are displayed in a large font so you can see them from across the room. It also tells you the local weather outside. The App is really easy to use and it's free. You can adjust the temperature from anywhere via the App or manually adjust it when you're at home. There is a geo-fencing option which allows your system to know when your home or not so it can adjust accordingly. You can program the system for a weekly schedule as well as one for the weekend (for those of us who like to sleep in). I would highly recommend the system.

The Lyric was easy to install and connect to WiFi....the system is amazing. We loaded the app to phone and IPad set the geofencing and alerts/ notifications and it all works just like it should. Awesome product....there are a few brands to pick from, but go with the leader and that's Honeywell....thank you for a great product....looking to purchase a second for upstairs units.

This thermostat was fairly easy to install and set up. It took roughly 25 minutes. I did opt to replace my 4 conductor wire with a 5 conductor wire, and that was put in place prior to the actual t-stat install. It includes an over-sized plate in case you need to cover a hole from a previous thermostat (I needed it). Configuration was pretty straight-forward. You do not need to be an IT wiz. If you can set up your phone, tablet, or TV on wi-fi, then you can easily do this thermostat yourself. I'm using the Android. Though fully functional, I do think the app needs a little work. Most of the more intricate and advanced features are accessible from the app. When considering this product and its performance, I immediately started comparing it to the Nest. I actually prefer the Lyric over the Nest.

In the world of the Internet of Things, a connected home allows for seamless automation, benefiting the home owner in both time and cost savings. This thermostat includes features of which allow for optimal energy savings for your home. Installation of the this thermostat can go one of two ways, depending on the current wiring at your current thermostat, and if the HomeKit feature is wanted to be used. The home kit requires an active always on power connection which typically isn't connected in many homes. If home kit is not to be installed, installation is as simple as uninstalling the old thermostat, noting the wiring and reconnecting the wiring to Lyric per directions. This option can be done in less that 20 minutes. The second option if the active power connection wire is installed or not can go for an hour. In my case I wanted to use the home kit feature and there were extra unused wires currently installed. Reading up on my Air Handling Unit I was able to connect the required extra wire. This can be a lot more work for a DIY person, and wouldn't recommend if you aren't comfortable with doing such work. Overall I got the thermostat up and running, with the home kit feature. After connecting, you are prompted to install the Lyric App on your phone and connect to the thermostats installation wifi network. This process was a bit lengthy and required information about the type of HVAC system such as electric or gas one or two stage cycle. After this one time process I was up and running. The app overall seams to be a bit buggy and doesn't allows communicate with the thermostat, i.e. Ill set the temp using the app and nothing happens. The use of the home kit which allows ios users to use siri to set the temperature behaves similar to the app. Only sometimes is it actually able to find the thermostat. Usually I am told the thermostat cannot be found. Its been hit or miss. The functionality of the thermostat is a bit awkward. You are able to rotate the outside ring to set temp but not able to use it to scroll through the menus. The thermostat overall looks great and built to last, very modern looking. The led lighting red or blue is a nice touch as your set the temp.

The thermostat is very sleek. iPhone like and looks great but it's just not for me. The installation was going well - wired, mounted, installed the app on my android. I powered it up and could not get it to connect to my wireless network. Contacted Honeywell and was told it didn't like android devices and to try it on my iPad.. .. I did and it worked but was not straightforward. I had to manually do a direct wifi connection and from there it connects to the network. Way more complicated than others I have installed. When running it looks nice. It has a home temperature and also an away temperature. It can detect if you are near home and adjusts. It does not have a schedule so if you are gone and others are home it is not a good choice for you. Overall not what I want in a thermostat as I am an android user.

Install was pretty straightforward; in my case only the cooling system is controlled by the thermostat, so there were only 3 wires. At first the Lyric was giving a message that it was not receiving power. It turned out that the red power wire was not connected even though I had pushed it in as far as I thought it could go. After it was powered up, the rest of the setup is done through the lyric app. It took a bit longer than I would've liked but it was easy enough. After the setup process was done, I wanted to test out the controls on the app. For some reason the Lyric gave a message saying it would turn the system on in 8 minutes. Not sure why it needed the time, there was no explanation in the app or the booklet but I waited. It was about 12 minutes later when the system finally kicked on. I have the geofencing set up so that it stays at my set temperature when I'm home and it chooses an appropriate temperature when I leave. That is much more efficient than having set 'home' and 'away' times on my previous thermostat. The temperature reading on the display is accurate and you have a couple of options that you can operate on the unit itself: a weather button which will give you the forecast for about a day out; an 'away' button that lets you tell the unit how long you'll be gone, and obviously you can manually set the temp by turning the outer ring. So far, everything seems to be working just fine. A couple of times the display on the Lyric indicated that it was not connected to wifi but I opened the app on my phone and it was working again. I would recommend this for anyone who is upgrading option to a smart home, although I think it is a bit pricey for what it is.
