T5 7-Day Programmable Thermostat with Digital Backlit Display

Terrible says programmable but does nothing after hitting menu Ridiculous product

Apparently 7-day programmable does not mean you can separately program each day of the week. You only control week days and weekends. That is what I would call a 5-2 programmable thermostat. Second problem is there is no mounting bracket supplied that screws into a standard outlet box. The UWP mount by itself is too small to screw directly over the outlet box. I was replacing an existing non-programmable Honeywell thermostat using an identical UWP mount. It had a backplate, but of a different shape so it doesn’t fit flush with this thermostat.

The thermostat works great and the install was very easy (I installed it myself with no electric training necessary).. did I mentioned I was a women.

Easy to install and simple to program, works as advertised

This purchase upgraded our current thermostat which was also a Honeywell brand. Was an easy upgrade. Programming was easy after reading the directions. One thing I noticed is that the relays that active the system are a little noisy. Sounds like someone is snapping their fingers. Otherwise great.

Easy to install and works with our current furnace. I wanted Nest or Ecobee but had to install Fast-Stat to take advantage of the C wire. At the end of the day, it would have cost $400 total per zone, have 4 zones. Our system has Rh and W wire set up. Currently being used for heat only. Will buy a second one to replace the 15 year old thermostat for the second zone.

Bought this to replace a LuxPro that had a bad control button controlling a 20yo Trane 80 two heat one cool system. Easy installation, followed manual exactly. Set overnight temp to 68, to go to 72 in the AM. Temp hit 72 and kept rising. Display never changed once it got to 72. When indoor temp was 75, measured by a bulb thermometer , a Taylor indoor digital thermometer and the display on the old Lux, the display suddenly switched to 74, and the furnace kept running. Manually lowered the temp set point to 70, and the furnace shut off. Exchanged this one for another, which did exactly the same thing. Called Honeywell customer service. Their response: "If there is a hardware store nearby, go there and BUY A VOLTMETER SO WE CAN CHECK THE VOLTAGE....." Returned the thermostat, reinstalled the old Lux, which is working like a champ, just have difficulty with the one button. Done with Honeywell.

Best option for folks whose thermostat does not have a "C" wire (commonly absent in older homes). However, the setting for having the thermostat switch automatically between heat and cool does not appear on the programming menu, despite being listed as an option on the box and in online specifications. Good choice for a basic backlit thermostat for installations lacking the "C" wire which provides power to the thermostat. Power for backlight on this thermostat is from AA batteries.
