If power goes out then your wifi will be out and you won't have access to the unit. I installed a stand by/backup generator in my summer home in Maine figuring I'd lose power at some point this winter losing my heat etc.
Yes, the detectors will have different names on the network so if you have a leak upstairs as opposed to the basement, you will know which area has a leak.

Not true. I do not have a Lyric thermostat, I have a Honeywell thermostat. I have two Lyric water detectors and they work very well. You just need to connect them to your wifi.
