Can I use this in the light switches and wall outlets for ants?

Asked by: Victor
Yes, if you remove the cover plate and sprinkle some inside the switch/outlet housing. Please ensure that you take appropriate electrical safety measures when removing outlet covers. Do not touch exposed wires without turning off the main power source at your breaker panel. If possible, try to locate where the ants are coming in and treat that area as well.

Will it killwasps and hornets? Exterminator said to use powder so they take it to their queen

Will it killwasps and hornets? Exterminator said to use powder so they take it to their queen
Asked by: Holly
Boric acid (borax) is effective for killing wasps. Applying borax to the nest can be more difficult than aerosol insecticide however, and is incredibly dangerous. You should stay as safe as possible when killing wasps, especially if your main assault is on their nest. To protect yourself, you should wear either heavy clothing or many layers of it. This makes it harder for the wasps to sting or bite you. Wait until night to poison a wasp nest because the wasps rest during the night, are concentrated within the nest, and are more vulnerable. If possible, wait for a cold night to attempt the extermination, since wasps have difficulty flying when the temperature is below 50 degrees.

I had no clue how I was going to get them out of my house. We couldn't sit long enough to watch a show on tv without seeing a roach crawl around or even the fear of having a roach crawl on us..very bad feeling. Was cleaning and boxing up items so we could prepare to fog our house or even hire a professional. At night when I would enter the kitchen I would have hundreds or roaches all over also some in the bathroom.....GROSS!!!! I felt like I was living in fear...I just had enough....Luckily I did some research and came across this product. BORIC ACID!!!! 3$ was def worth a try....I purchased one bottle and the next day I woke up to sooo many dead roaches....so I purchased another and covered more areas of the house....Thankful its been about two weeks and they are almost completely gone...the ones that I see are very weak and fading. I will def keep this stuff on hand. Roaches crawl to this stuff like crazy....I can finally enjoy being home again without worries. I would recommend this to anyone experiencing this problem. Def helped us out big time!!! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product! I moved into my own apartment about 3 weeks ago. When I was first able to see the apartment I had seen one roach in the sink, I didn't pay any mind to it thinking it wasn't going to be a hastle. As days went by after moving in, they really began coming out at night to the point where they were everywhere including my room. I told my complex about it and it took them over 2 weeks to get terminix over (which I don't think did absolutely anything with the gel they put around, or it might have). I became stressed at the fact that I couldn't sit still in my own living room and always looking around walls and borders. I came across this product in Home Depot and I literally sprinkled the powder all along borders around the kitchen and anywhere I think they might be coming out of. Obviously the first night doesn't work, but as they came out I made sure I sprinkled some powder on their backs and legs and watch them go back to their nests. Hahahaha let me say, after a week I began to see less and less. I also bought the "Bengal roach spray" and it's awesome! Kills them instantly! Anyway I definitely suggest buying this product. Good luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! My wife and I are all about reducing chemical seepage into the ground water and this product fits the bill. Keep in mind, this is not an immediate kill. It takes a day to a few days to work its magic but boy does it work! Besides, you don't want to kill the ants/roaches/etc too quickly. You want them to crawl through the powder and take it back to their nests. That way, they spread it around and the entire colony takes the hit. I keep a bottle of this stuff in the house and supply our property renters with as many bottles as they want. It's cheap as well! On top of everything, it is easy to use and has a long shelf life (the liquids are only good in the bottle for a few months once you start using it). The professionals puff this stuff behind your walls and charge you and arm and a leg. Do it yourself! Simply take off the light switch and socket covers. Puff some of the boric acid behind the electrical box and put the covers back on. The powder will work for YEARS. Pro Tip: We are DIY and when we remove the baseboards for a floor renewal (new carpet or hardware for example) we put a line of this stuff down before we put the baseboards back in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Potent This stuff kills every kind of little bug that gets on your nerves and in your living space. Make a line with the powder and they either don't cross it or if they get it on them they die. I mixed a little of the powder with some water and squirted it all around the outside of my apartment mainly where the walls and ground met. I poured a line of just the powder outside in front of my door and patio door. Two and a half years now and I don't have ants, waterbugs, centipeds, spiders or roaches. But be careful of your animals getting into it, this stuff is VERY potent and will also kill plants that come in contact with it, which my Apt. manager hasn't noticed yet! This stuff also HAS NO ODOR.
