Questions & Answers

will this product kill yellow jackets?

Asked by Joseph September 26, 2020

It should kill just about any insect that has to walk through it and afterwards lick itself clean. Ants and bees are in the same insect order, Hymenoptera. The dry powder combines with the water in their stomachs to create boric acid, the killing agent.

Can i mix boric acid with water and spray in the kitchen caninets where pots and pans are and the pantry with canned goods

Thank you for your question. Our product can only be applied as packaged. Mixing with water will cause the product to become ineffective.

I used mine for ants and it worked great, my bottle says nothing about scorpions, but hot shot does make Hot Shot Scorpion Killer Spray.. Talk to someone at your local Home Depot they do have a great bug killer that does take care of scorpions,

How do you get the product out? Are you supposed to cut the tip off or what? There’s no instructions!

Take black tip off and cut the clear plastic tip. Will spray out as powder or remove cap and shake out. As long as the powder is down, roaches die.

can this be mixed into a food bait form?

Asked by reki October 23, 2019

I don't know. I don't see why you would need bait. It washes away with water. I don't know if it mixes well.

Product won’t come out spout. Am I supposed to cut off a certain amount of the tip? It doesn’t say so on bottle.

Cut as much off the clear tip to use what you need or open the cap and shake out. I treat the container like I would glue.

Can i add anything to make it more effective in killing german roaches?

Asked by Al September 1, 2019

Answers

I needed nothing else. I spread it in my garage and in a week I needed to sweep up the carnage. For spray, I have always used Bengal concentrate. My regret is spiders will have no refuge. They die as well. Hoping they remain outside.

With this boric acid powder, you can make your own VERY EFFECTIVE ant killer. If you take the time to search some do-it-yourself sites, a few demonstrations and explanations will show you how to mix, what proportions of boric acid powder to use to what proportion of sweet-sugary-based or oily-grease-based foodstuff to use, and how to keep it moist. I use a small dab of high-fructose corn syrup and sugar strawberry jam (makes a pink color bait) ... or small dab of creamy peanut butter for the other kind of ant appetite. Find their marching trail, and dribble a bit around the trap (I use an plastic lid from an old food jar or beverage container .... and the little guys can't resist! Within a half hour, the thing is swarming with ants feeding, and taking the poison back to their lair - presumably to feed the others and the QUEEN and her larvae. I t should take about 72 hours or so, and there is a dramatic reduction, and eventually a complete halt to ant activity in your kitchen, or bathroom, or wherever you see them inside your house. Usual cautions apply if you have pets or infants. This will work when the pre-made baits don't do the trick.

Same stuff professionals use. Not poisonous, not toxic. Ants walk through it, and when they lick themselves clean, they swallow the borax, which meets water in the stomach and becomes boric acid, which kills them. Eventually, the stuff reaches the queen, and as she goes, so goes the colony. Professionals drill holes in the baseboards to get at the colony, and they squirt this stuff in with dry squirt bottles with narrow tips that you can buy.
