Product Overview

Hot Shot MaxAttrax Ant Bait provides relief from even tough ant problems. Use indoors, outdoors or anywhere ants are a problem to kill the queen and destroy the colony. These child-resistant bait stations start killing in hours and continue killing up to 6 months indoors. Use near walls, in closets and cabinets and under sinks and refrigerators. Just place one bait station along each ant trail. Heavily infested areas may require two or more bait stations for effective control. Can these traps be placed on kitchen counters?

Asked by: Winners
I really like the hotshot Ant baits. They always work very well for me. I get ants every spring and summer and find them in one of my bathrooms, in my kitchen, near my dogs food bowl and near my sliding doors going to the yard. I recommend using them with a bait station cover. They make the baits descrete and keep them away from the kids and pets. I use the TrapJak bait station covers. They work great and stick on the wall and blend in nicely so you don't notice them at all.

How long till the ants are gone?

Asked by: Shorty
Immediate results for me, but I bought these bait traps for preventative purposes, meaning I did not have an infestation. IF I did, I would buy the product they make for infestations which is a spray, I would imagine that can be sprayed where you have them coming into the house, and then buy the baits to prevent them from coming back, as they will take the bait from the traps and return to the nest to give to the Queen ant which will kill her and the eggs will be killed. You must be careful with sprays though as you can not spray them any where people or pets can touch and spread the toxin into the home. Read the instructions when handling all insecticides for their proper use as well as their disposal.

Are they ready right out of package

Asked by: Koko
Yes. Just place them in the path that the ants are travelling.

MaxAttrax Ant Bait (4-Count) is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Wonders! We woke up one morning to see ants in my kitchen. I was so upset, knowing that how do we get rid of them. I went on-line to see the products available hoping that I could find something that would work before calling the exterminator. Well, the Hot Shot Ant Bait had pretty good ratings, so I thought I would try it. I was wondering that it was on the cheaper side that it might not work to well, but I thought I would try. Boy am I so glad I bought it! We put out two baits, one on the top of the cabinet, and one on the side of the cabinet. They seemed to love the side of my cabinets and window sill. It took about an hour or so and when I went back to take a look, SO many ants crawling around the bait. I was almost panicking, but my husband said wait and see what happens. Well, its been over a week, NO ants!! The day after the bait was set, probably 8-10 ants I found. By the third day, NO ants!! YAY! Just a word of warning, when the baits are put out, they will run to it! But that's a good thing..just wait and don't panic!! Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got rid of thief ants in 2 days! My dad's place had an invasion of really really small red ants. So small that even there bites were minorly bothersome, but they seemed like they were everywhere, kitchen, bathrooms, carpet. I tried the home remedy of mixed up baking soda and powdered sugar...walked right past it. I googled the problem and discovered that they were thief ants and liked greasy high protein foods. Next I tried peanut butter and baking soda mixed together (on a whim). They took the peanut butter and left the baking soda behind. I was about to order some expensive granules off of the internet, when my brother in law gave me a tube of stuff...they didn't even touch it and it made the ants avoid the peanut butter bait now. I found this stuff while shopping at Home Depot and it was the only one that said it killed grease and sugar ants so I tried it. $2 got rid of my ants in 2 days. It has been 3 days now and I have seen a few stragglers, but I am confident that they are vanquished. Thank you Hot Shot! My best advice is to try and identify the ant first so you can make sure you get the right bait the first time...good luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Very effective! I used this product while living in a 1st floor apartment that was an ant magnet. It worked like a charm. I put them in locations within the apartment where I had previously seen an ant or two. After about an hour, ants were flooding in and out of this trap. Don't be alarmed. This means they are taking the bait. By the next morning all the ants were gone. This trap did not even leave any ant bodies behind. Like the box says, it kills the colony within the hive. I removed the traps about 72 hours after I put them down. I have not seen any ants in the apartment since! It's been over a year...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Depends on kind of ants I'm not surprised with the 5 and 0 mixed reviews. It all depends on the kind of ants you are targeting whether a given product will work for you. This worked for us after other brands with other ingredients didnt. Unless you know ants (I don't), it's guesswork, but not all that expensive to try different kinds until you get a match...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked like magic I see some negative reviews which motivated me to write about my own experience. I have a problem every year with tiny black ants invading my kitchen. I have tried everything in the past and nothing worked until I decided to give these bait traps a try. The ants showed up last week (July) so I set out 8 (two packs & probably overkill) around the kitchen. COMPLETELY GONE IN ONE DAY. If I hadn't seen it myself I would not have believed it. No sign of them anywhere. This product worked like magic for me.
