              The app worked perfectly
I bought 3 fans. I only bought 1 Hunter fan because of all the bad reviews about the app. I bought two Home Decorators fans which came with a Bond hub. Well the Hunter fan took 1/3 of the time to install because the directions and engineering are light years ahead of the others. It was simple and straightforward. Once I was done installing I felt confident it was done correctly. Not so with the others. Also, the integrated light provides plenty of light. Again, not so with the other fans I bought. So, when I got to the setup of the SimpleConnect 2.0 app and adding the Alexa skill, I fully expected it not to work and to have to try to link the fan with the Bond Hub. Well turns out the people who left the other reviews from a few months ago were either using the old app or maybe just don’t know how to use technology? I’m not sure but it took all of 5-7 minutes to get the app setup and linked with Alexa. I’m an iPhone user, so maybe they’re Android users? Conclusion: This fan was easy to install and even easier to use as a smart fan! I’m seriously considering returning my two other fans and buying two more Apaches.

Hardware install 5 stars. The software, zero. Android app would not register. Doesn't look like it's compatible either with other major app controllers (eg Google, etc). Since I got this fan based on being able to fit in with other smart home (wifi controlled) devices, I am quite disappointed. I can only hope that Hunter can fix this through the app, without messing with the hardware. The LED light is ideal for this, although it could be brighter, and would be nice for this price if it was dimmable.

                  Nice Air Flow
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fan in my son's room stopped working and he's into the WiFi and Amazon Alexa so we ordered the Apache with LED Light 54". We've always been "fan" of the Hunter Brand so thought we'd give this a try. Since his room is 12 x 12, we ordered the Large 54 inch which is recommended for up to 20'x20' (the small works best for up to 10x10). There are only 3 blades to this fan and it's the first 3 blade we've ever had so I wasn't sure how well it would work and look but was pleased with the air flow and assembly. PROS: *Installation for the most part was not too difficult to assemble. *The fan works well and provides a nice air flow CONS: *Haven't gotten the app to work *Globe looks a bit like my grandma's fan (not as retro as I had hoped) Had a friend and family member install this and they are pretty good at installing things and tech savy so I was disappointed that between all of us we haven't been able to get the app to work yet. Other than that, no issues.

                    amazing, high tech fan!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are impressed by this fan! It was easy to install overall, just make sure you have a very tall ladder. The instructions are very easy to follow and everything you need is in the box. The fan is kinda modern-industrialized looking. It is very unique! Not your regular boring fan. This one makes a statement. The quality is really great. The motor is really really heavy duty. The only plastic part are the blades. We love that we can dim the light and also control the fan from low to high. It also have a reverse mode. The app is very easy to use. We connected ours with our echo dot with no problem. Best thing about this fan is every time I don't turn that light off, I just tell alexa/echo to turn it off and it will do that or I can do it from my phone too. Actually, one time, hubby taught it was funny to turn the lights off and on using the app while he is at work and I was home. It got me scared for a bit! But this fun is soooooo cool! We love it!

Stunning fan! The most interesting feature are the blades. Rather than the normal flat installation, these bamboo blades slide in vertical slots and are secured by a hex screw and bolt. Two hex wands are included because you need to hold it on one side and screw on the other. Instructions include setting up electrical for either one pole or two. A remote is included so it really doesn't matter. Regarding the two pole system, which is what I have, it may or may not work with sliders on the wall, even if left fully on the on position. I'm still working it out. What happens is that according to the directions, you can hold the light button and it will dim. It does not. It only goes on and off. The fan part however, works great. If you hold the fan button down, it reverses directions so you no longer have to use a button on the fan for winter/summer use. Super easy installation. The bracket is a good size, better than most, for storing wires if your ceiling bracket is not deep enough. I haven't tried the Apple homekit feature at this time.

The Apache 54 inch ceiling fan by Hunter adds a lot of style to a room with its rustic but modern appearance. The fan blades are rustic knotty wood in appearance, while the center offers a clean sleek black appearance. All of this is highlighted by the LED light that is mounted at the base. The fan blades are curved and propeller like, which seem to be just the perfect shape for moving a large volume of air efficiently and quietly. The fan has four speed settings, from extra low to high, providing the right atmosphere for everyone. The fan also has a reversible motor, allowing you the ability to change direction based on your needs throughout the year. At the highest speed setting there is a slight wobble to the fan, but is almost unrecognizable. The LED light provides more than enough light for any room size. It is completely dimmable through the remote control (which is included) or through the Wi-Fi App. If there is one thing that I would change about this ceiling fan it would be the glass globe. It doesn't match well with the overall rustic appearance. Installation is extremely simple and only took about a half hour to complete, from start to finish. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow. Finally, setting up the Wi-Fi feature takes a little bit of time. If you simply try to set up an account through Hunter it will not recognize your it. You will need to open the Hunter App (The Simple Connect App) and select the "Continue with fewer features". Once you get to the next screen you will see a gear icon in the upper left corner of the screen. At this point you will have the opportunity to create an account. After creating your account you will be able to set up all of your user options. Take your time and follow the directions you will have no issues and will be controlling this fan and light from you Alexa or your smart phone.

The fan part works and looks great. The IOS application on the other hand needs lots of work !!! Very tuff to use the Hunter app once you download it. Seems to have an issue where it does not find the fan. Finally after it found the fan it worked !! Then the app asked that I register to unlock more functions. Upon registration and going back into the application guess what....the fan was now missing and trying to add it back into the app showed nothing (see pics). Other users have experienced the same issues if not more. It is sad that Hunter is not able to provide working basic technology for WiFi connected devices have been out for years !! Its great that HomeDepot monitors their vendors to make sure they are providing safe working products. With that being said when will Hunter release an update to the application that fixes all these issues ?? P.s. I am looking forward to hearing from Hunter about the extra features my fan will provide since I became a registered user..........the excitement is mounting....

Thanks to Caseta Wireless Switches and Philips hue bulbs, the entire downstairs of my home has connected lighting. The only exception is the light on the ceiling fan in our family room. Despite wanting this fan in that room, the blade color did not work whatsoever. I ended up installing this in our upstairs game room. This Hunter Apache Ceiling Fan was an easy install. That fact that the receiver hardware is built into the fan actually makes it an easier install than most remote controlled fans. Once installed I had it connected to the Home app on my iPhone 7 Plus within a few minutes. This fan has four speeds. The top speed puts out a great deal of air. I have a slight bit of wobble on the highest speed which I’m sure can be corrected; I just haven’t gotten around to it. There’s a lot to like about this fan. The pitch of the blades, the blade design, the industrial style light, and the noble bronze finish are all very esthetically pleasing. I am also glad that the LED light is very bright at 100%. There is one negative thing for me and that’s the remote control. It allows full operation of the fan but it feels cheap. It comes with a cradle that can be stuck or screwed onto the wall. I like things to look clean and neat. Attaching a remote control to the wall next to the switch looks tacky in my opinion. The other issue is that if someone hits the switch, your connected fan is out of commission so to speak. My solution was to use a Hunter in-wall switch (Model # 99373). It synced with this fan without any issues and gives that neat appearance I wanted. As far as the connected aspect of the fan, it’s the best part. I can interact with it via the Hunter app, the Lutron Caseta Wireless app, and Apple’s Home app. In addition to regular fan operations, the Hunter app allows you to set timers and schedules for the fan and light. You can also connect remotely through the Hunter app. That is not possible with the Lutron app and only possible with the Home app if you have an Apple TV or dedicated iPad at home. I’m very satisfied with this purchase and definitely recommend it. I only hope the selection of Hunter HomeKit fans expands. I still want a fan for my family room but none of the current offerings work for me.
