These are beautiful fans, easily installed on a slanted covered porch. Note that there are no pulls for light or fan so you must use wall switch or remote. If you have ever had to “dust” an outdoor chain pull you will be grateful for this.

Beautiful fan! Only two points to speak of: the install is a bit complicated, so it helps to have it installed, and the lights are REALLY bright. I have to get different bulbs for entertaining.

Great fan. Easy to follow instructions and easy to install. Stylish. Quite. Sufficient lighting. Overall great fan, that is why we only buy Hunter fans. The negative : although the remote is straightforward and easy to use, boy is it ugly. At least change the color of it, that would help.

I purchased this fan to replace an existing fan that no longer matched my kitchen/dining area decor. I did not need it to be rated for outdoor applications, but I liked this one better than the others of similar style. I had also been told by several people that Hunter makes really good fans, better than the average big box store brands, and that the extra money would be worth it. I got what I ordered and it arrived on time without any hassles. I still like the way it looks, modern without being overly edgy. I have installed a number of ceiling fans and light fixtures, so am not really a novice at this stuff. I have vaulted ceilings so arranging for getting the appropriate sized down rod in the right color in a reasonable amount of time without driving all over town was an issue. A friend of mine help me chop down a longer rod and re-drill the required holes. That worked fine although the ground screw to the down rod could stand to be a bit longer and of better quality. The assembly and wiring of this was putzy and, quite frankly, annoying. The transmitter doesn't really sit stable in the ceiling bracket and when you are doing an angled installation that becomes a real issue. Every time you touch a wire the transmitter slips. It fell on the floor once (still seems to work though) and nearly fell a few other times. There are a lot of wires and nuts to stuff into a pretty small space. I laughed when the instruction said to push the grounds to one side and the remaining wires to the other. Sure, with about 1" of space to work in, I'll try that! There was a lot of up and down the ladder. It's in and working fine though. Maybe I just haven't done these in awhile but this assembly was not intuitive and the installation guide could have used some additional illustrations. I feel like if I hadn't already done this type of thing a few times that I would have really been aggravated at the end of the process. It seems pretty solid...at least the fan itself. The remote is a cheap piece of junk that definitely lives up to it's made in China label. It's an incredibly ugly piece of green/gray/tan plastic. No, I won't be hanging this on my wall. More like hiding it in the nearest drawer. I bought a black fan...what possessed them to spec this color remote?? One of the blades was scratched. It isn't really noticeable but the blades are wrapped in a separate bundle with tissue paper between each blade. That means the blades were already scratched when they were packaged. That's poor quality control. Overall I really do like the fan, but other than being the style I wanted I am not sure it was worth $100 more than another (other brand) similar fan. Maybe time will tell?

The house I bought has a large sun room and two white ceiling fans that appear to have been outdoor rated. The fans worked, but the heat and sun in the sun room has caused the plastic blades to yellow and several of the plastic and rubber parts on the fan were destroyed by the heat. I thought I would try this Hunter Dempsey model because it is outdoor rated, and because it is a darker color. Although our sun room is white, I wanted a darker color that would hopefully hold up better to the sun and heat. This fan looks like it will work very well for my sun room. The only plastic part that I could see is the large 'ball' on the rod that sits in the mounting bracket. There don't seem to be any other pieces of plastic or rubber that can be damaged by the sun or heat. The motor casing and light fixture plate are all metal, with the composite wood fan blades being the only other non-metal part. Installation of this fan was very easy. I just mounted the new fan bracket in place of the old one, wired it up with my own fan remote that I purchased separately, and was probably done in under 30 minutes. Screwing on the fan blades was a bit tedious, but the mounting design keeps the fan compact and gives the fan a clean modern look. The fan comes with two LED bulbs that are dimmable. The only minor issue I had was that the fan wobbled about 1/4"-1/2" when on high. I used the included fan balancing kit to test each blade with a plastic clip, found the blade that improved the balance, and then mounted the included adhesive weight on that blade. The fan no longer wobbles, but does still have a vibration when it is on high. There is no noise, and it isn't a visible 'wobble', but if I watch the fan housing, I can see it vibrating slightly. I really like the clean modern look of the fan, so I have ordered another one to replace the second fan in my sun room.

This is a very quiet, good looking, and efficient fan. Super quiet, I barely hear it at the maximum setting. Good looking with mat black metal parts and either black or brown/wood blades. Our bedroom is usually boiling at night, and since we have installed this fan, I enjoy summer nights again. Having standard LED light bulbs is awesome (no issue for replacing), and the lights dims with the remote, which is a plus. It is also super simple to switch from winter to summer modes as the switch is simply within the light bulbs area (others require to unscrew the canopy, which is tedious.) I am not a fan expert and it took me longer than it should for the installation. The most challenging part was to set-up a brace for the electrical box from which the fan is hooked to. Using a so-called "safe-T-Brace" truly helped the process. Once the electrical box is done, process is mostly trouble-free. The installation manual is clear and straightforward. Screws are packed in clearly labelled bags, which definitively made things easier.There is a bit of wiring but nothing to get stressed about (again, manual is very clear and easy to follow.) In the end, highly recommend this fan.

I installed this fan in my living room because I didn't have a spot to put it outdoors. It was relativly easy to install except for installing the fan blades. I had a hard time trying to install the screws into the fan blades upside down on top of a ladder. The rest was easy to install. The fan is perfectly balanced. The light puts out great light. The remote control is a great touch. There is nothing hanging down like most fans have. The fan moves the air better than any fan I've ever had. I would recommend this fan to anyone who needed a great fan whether indoors or outdoors.

I love the highest speed and the absence of motor noise and clicking that I’ve experienced on every other fan I’ve owned. The Hunter fan has better quality and performance than brands that cost twice as much.
