Reduce vibration and the noise that can plague your car with the HushMat Ultra Multi-Use Sound Deadening Kit with Stealth Black Foil. It is super-easy to install because it is self-adhesive, does not require special tools, surface prep or any adhesives, nor will it contaminate spray operations. And you can use it in firewalls, floor pans, tunnels, doors, roof, rear wheel wells, trunk and quarter panels. HushMat Ultra is a pressure-sensitive, constrained-layer damper, which has excellent adhesion to many difficult to bond substrates such as oily cold rolled steel, automotive E-coat, primers and finishes plus many plastics including polypropylene. The aluminum foil constraining layer and specially formulated visco-elastic polymer layer combine to give effective vibration damping over a wide temperature range. HushMat is the only OEM specified and approved sound deadening and thermal insulating material available to the automotive aftermarket. This kit contains 4 sheets of 12 in. x 11 in. Stealth Black Foil for 3.7 sq. ft. of coverage.

      A:  don't know what a wall can is but I tried knocking down a pool pump motor and it only dropped 2 decibels. surely did not meet expectations of what manufacturer stated by deadening engine bay noise.

        A:  This product is only recommended for use inside walls or other areas that are not noticeable. The adhesive will rip the original paint off the door should you need to take the product off later.

              bought the kit "thinking" it would soften the sound of...
              bought the kit "thinking" it would soften the sound of the pool pump. built a cabinet, lined it with sound deadening material and after ALL that, it reduced the audible sound a total of 2, that's TWO decibels. that aint jack!

              Your pool pump transmits noise via air and not the structure surrounding it. Our Silencer Foam is the solution for your problem - not the HushMat Ultra. HushMat Ultra treats vibration - not airborne noise. This video demonstrates the similar effect using a household blender. https://youtu.be/ii435oWmLUA Note the cardboard box that is similar in nature to the "cabinet" you built.
