how long is 9/16 wrench

how long is 9/16 wrench
Asked by: rob
Hi Rob, this wrench is approximately 7-1/4 inches.

what is the thickness of the open-end portion of the wrench?

I need an 11/16" open-end wrench that is thin enough to fit between the body and chuck of a Milwaukee hammer drill. It cannot be thicker than 1/4" otherwise it won't hold.
Asked by: DeltaFan
It is 15mm thick, or 19/32". Sounds like you need 8/32 or 1/4", so this is more than twice too thick.

I don't have a very accurate scale but using a fish scale mine weighs in at 2 lbs. It is substantial, not a light weight tool.

If I order online how will this wrench be shaped? It appears there are two different shapes for wrenches.

These two pictures are from home depot's website. This 30 mm wrench can be purchased separate or in a set, but I'm wondering if I buy it online if it will be the same shape as the individual one or the one pictured in the set. My local store has them in the set and individual and they are both the same shape, the one where it gets wider right up close to the open end of the wrench. One the website though it shows the individual wrench with straight sides right up to the end. I just want to know why there are two different shapes and mostly which one I will get if I order online. I'm considering buying basically one of every wrench husky makes, but I want to them to all be the same shape/style. Thank you
Asked by: Jacob
Jacob, Mine was not part of a set, I just needed a single tool. It arrived as a tool that does get wider near to the open end. The main body of the tool is straight until the last 2 inches from what forms the open end, at that point it begins to widen until it blends with the curve of the open end. On the other end the blend starts at 3/4 of an inch from the box end until it blends with the circle of the box end. I have not seen the set wrenches so I cannot say if this is a standard configuration, but I suspect that it is since it would be quite expensive to support two separate molds for a single type and size of tool. Note also that the tool is full polish, and very well done, but does not appear to be hard chrome, it does mark if scratched. All the best! Hans
