With a brand new Milwaukee tape measure I get 9 and 1/8 in in total length. It seems a bit heavier than the ones in the past.

Like most products, it is made in China. Don't believe the hype that China products are of the same quality as one other person said. One just needs to look at the difference between USA Craftsman and China made Craftsman. ALL these Chinese made products have a shorter lifespan. Look at the older Dewalt and Milwaukee products that works for decades. You wont find that with the new "same quality" china crap they want you to believe.

Didn't last long
I only used this for trim and light duty stuff, but it fell apart in the middle of a job. I actually reassembled it and it works fine, but I have to say, it was a first. I wish I had bought something else.

Great ratchet
Purchased the 1/2” and 3/8” version along with the Husky 200 piece socket set (item H200MSS). Love the 100 position ratchets for tight spaces and they are all I use now. These ratchets (including the black 1/4”) along with the 200 piece socket set from husky make a perfect set, with no filler, for under $300.

This handy little ratchet works just as I expected it to. I was able to put a fair amount of force into this without it resisting. The gear sounds and feels new (as is to be expected) but with some use, it should smooth out a little bit. The gears are held in with a clamp which can be removed to clean and lubricate the mechanics of the wrench. The handle and weight feel good in the hand and the finish looks great. The button on the back makes removing or adding a socket easy and its strong enough to hold the sockets tightly. If maintained, this ratchet should last a long while.

Having the a proper set of right sized tools for the job is very important to me. This is a low profile smaller than normal 1/4" drive ratchet that will fit in most places a even a normal sized ratchet will not go. Husky lifetime warranty means you can use this sensibly without fear of breaking. It fits most standard sockets. I have put an extension pipe on it and had no problem. Very happy and buy it again. I also know that if you find something like this cheaper than Husky you be getting an inferior product that will not last.

This Husky branded 1/4-in. drive ratchet drive has good hand feel. It works especially well with its 100 position ratchet (3.6 degree rotation per click) for the six-point sockets that I prefer to use to prevent rounded corners on hex-head bolts, screws and nuts. The moderately long handle allows for a good measure of torque without being uncomfortable in use. The low profile for this tool facilitates effective use in tight quarters, a real plus. This tool has very good fit and finish, an indication of high quality for the price. This is a worthwhile addition to my large tool collection.

Husky Brand product, made in China. Excellent weight and feel in the hand. I like that it has 100 clicks in comparison to my Craftsman made in USA that only has 36 clicks in comparison. Thus you should be able to tighten or loosen a nut better with the Husky ratchet. In comparison to overall length, the Husky ratchet is about 1/2 longer, which would give you more leverage. I like the black matte finish and how the handle is contoured to fit your hand grasp around its handle. It is also not as thick, see the pics as to the head of the ratchet where you can see why it is a low profile head in comparison. This will give you a little more wiggle room in those tight spots with a socket. I used it with my lawn mower tinkering repairs and maintenance mostly and fits easily with all my existing sockets for this 1/4 ratchet. Overall an excellent product and has a lifetime warranty too.

Nice tool
I have no argument against this tool. The low profile head might allow getting into those tight spots where a standard size ratchet might not fit. With a 3.6 degree click along with nice long handle, torque should no longer be a concern. The handle is exceptionally comfortable as it has a design made for firm torque, but might cause a concern with greasy hands. I like the socket button lock/release. Positive action in anything that moves on this tool. The mechanics within the head are accessible for maintenance, if needed. I highly recommend this tool.

Easy to use and strong
Nothing is worse than a finicky ratchet. That was my problem, after 25 years my old one would no longer change directions. So it was time for a new one. This Husky 3/8" ratchet is made of substantial steel. It has a good amount of weight for something so slender. The handle is also about a foot long which provides some great torque when you need it. I also appreciate the switch based left/right ratchet locking. It makes switching directions a breeze. Last thing to mention is the 3/8" head & ball. This ball does not actually have a spring behind it directly. Meaning you do not just push/pull the socket onto the ratchet head. Instead it is locked in place by a push-button on the ratchet head. I am pleased with this solution. Seems to be well constructed and I have hopes it will last me 25+ years also.
