A: This tool is not manufactured to be classified as an oil filter wrench. However our customers find different applications for many tools in a pinch. It is warrantied for plumbing applications only. Hope this helps!!

A: In some instances, it's better than an oil filter wrench with the offset. It reaches into areas that may be difficult. It's versatility, makes it one of my favorite tools. I had used it in the past to remove an oil filter and was very pleased. Obviously, be careful not to crush the filter be applying too much pressure to the jaws.

A: These pliers are not intended for use as a oil filter wrench. They are for use on PVC type of pipes. It is possible to be used on oil filters but the designed feature associated with these pliers could puncture the metal and then you have a real problem.

This is a great wrench and I am glad to finally have one in my workshop. I've fumbled with channel-locks on PVC enough. It grips PVC as small as an outside diameter of 2.5" as in great for screwing in joints but also fitting glued joints. Another great use for this tool is removing oil filters. It is a solid and durable tool that adjusts for size as well. The teeth on the wrench cause no bad damage to the pipe. The lifetime warranty is also great.

Handy adjustable sizing by the ratchet from 2-1/2 in. to 4-5/8 in. jaw capacity with dual material cushion grip for a comfortable use. They are ideal for unfastening or tightening large diameter PVC pipe, conduit and fittings, drain strainer lock nuts and removing those pesky stuck on oil filters. Solid tool. Husky usually makes a good tool, and this set of pliers is no exception. Well built and sturdy, but light enough to handle for an entire job without killing your hand. nice rubber covered handles. The pliers can grab smaller pvc, but can also handle the larger diameter. I grabbed, and lifted, a three foot section of heavy duty 4 inch pvc with these with no problem. Firm grasp, as the opening have large teeth located in three places (two on one side, one on the other. seems like this tool will last a long time. Perfect tool for the job.
