Q:The grey was perfect NON-MARRING mallet i used for cabinet installs. The black hammer marks up stuff that i hit.

Answer This Question

A:  I only use the black mallet for flooring. If you don't hit the block correctly, you only have a black mark on the floor that will be covered with the next row of planks. I would not only recommend a grey mallet for cabinets, but also a soft rubber mallet, instead of the plastic black Husky.

A:  Ive not seen the gray in quite awhile. I too am cabinet making and the black does mar....I cleaned mine, and then put a coat of clear poly on it....lasts quite awhile. I couldnt give up the hammer..it a great weight hammer.

A:  I used the black Husky dead blow hammer to assemble metal shelves and saw no marring.

A:  Well I only purchased one of these. However, if you contacted your local Home Depot I am sure they can or at least tell you whom you can contact to make a purchase like you describe.

        Answer This Question

A:  Yes, I use it as a dead blow. Where a regular hammer might leave a mark this hammer is not likely to leave a mark.

A:  These have many uses, but they are most commonly used in woodworking to knock joints together, or apart. It will not dent or mar the materials. Hope this helps!!

A:  this hammer is rubber made to not do any damage to the item you are hammering it on.. it also reduces blow back s that the hammer doesnt bounce off the surface being hammered, hence the title dead blow

          by|Feb 17, 2021

A:  It is used when a standard hammer made of steel would make a mark or damage the finish. These carry the weight of a much heavier hammer due to the material inside being able to shift and in doing so, will produce much more force with less effort.

Best Dead Blow for the money.
This hammer is great. I use it daily as I drive tanker truck. I use it to hit rail cars and the sides of my tanker hopper.

I needed a dead-blow hammer to help me install some laminate flooring that clicks together. The extra “oomph” that the dead-blow hammer provides does make a difference with this type of flooring. That said, the head of the hammer is a little on the soft side and I could tell there was a little damage after hitting the flooring pull tool, which is metal. However, for the price, this is a good hammer to have and it helped me get the house done.

Glad that it is all one piece has a nice weight to it as it swings. Bought this to beak up bone dry clay and it doesn’t bust up the plastic bag that it’s in.
