How do you get the socket out of the ratchet
BySep 25, 2024
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Sammy, Due to the design of the Pass-Thru ratchet, the socket is held by a spit ring. To remove a socket you can either pull the socket free or push with your thumb from the back side to remove the socket from the ratchet.

                  Ratchet mechanic was already broken
Seems like the mechanism in the head is already gone it would reverse direction without me touching the reverse switch. Plus the head was too big for the particular job I had to do. I went and got the titan brand as it should and has better space clearance

cheaper to buy whole kit for a few you need
It was cheaper to buy whole kit for a few sockets I needed for my moto specific tool roll and just have extras around. Haven’t broken a socket yet I have faith in these for my kit

this is junk cons like others mentioned
checked it out for myself at store. it is indeed trash. big gap where socket connects to ratchet. also alot and i mean ALOT of wobble. saw it was on sale in stores $19.97 i still wouldnt buy this is 1 step about the cheap low end stuff you buy that will get u by. the handle feels low quality and flemsy toothpick like. 2 stars: good value $20 and both metric/sae. go w/ craftmans set by far way better quality once in hand. small gap where socket meets ratchet but it stays even not much wobble like the husky aka apex. trust me its worth a trip to LOW, i think its my new tool to go line now.

A good compact tool for small jobs.
A great compact tool for small jobs. I love the ratchet style driver but it is not a smooth transition when switching directions. It seems it gets caught trying to change unless you keep trying several times. Other than that issue it works well and small enough to fit 1/4 inch multi bits.

Disappointed, not all are a perfect fit
The individual pass through sockets and ratchet seems to be fine. However the extension itself is a different story. The smaller size sockets (mm and sae) did not fit correctly, the sockets just did not seat properly and had a habit of jamming. I traded it in thinking it was a dud, but the other one was the same way. I like the nice little case it came with, but I expected better fit and finish quality from husky. If you don't want/need to use the extension then it's fine.

Sockets do not flush up against the ratchet. There is roughly a quarter inch gap between the socket and the ratchet which makes the socket wobble. Despite the price being on sale I would rather pay more for something that is higher quality. I would have expected more from Husky. Unfortunately I will be returning this.
