Great set to get things done

These sockets do work on 3/8" impact wrenches. They fit extremely loose and sloppy! If you notice, there is no hole in them to secure a hog ring or a pin detent like normal impact sockets. These work only with the ball type fasteners such as ratchets or the included extension. Made in China.

I've only had these a week, but my first impression of them is good. These Husky 3/8" drive impact sockets are nice, I really like the wobble that allows you to use at an angle and not have to be straight on the bolt. I like the pinless feature as it makes it easier to get on and off the impact drill. This 7 piece set gives me the sizes I needed most for off radius driving. I did get both the SAE and the metric 7 piece sets.

Anyone who has used pinned universal sockets knows the limitations: They work poorer and poorer the greater the angle from straight-on, and can jam up so that you can't even turn them. The rotation is jerky - not conducive to accurate tightening at all. These sockets solve that issue. The drive is a circular ball with grooves, and the turning is as smooth as if you were going straight-on. I put a bolt into a vise (see picture, and could easily drive the nut at a 35 degree angle. Great tool for those hard-to-reach bolts and nuts.

Over all, a very decent and high quality set of universal type and impact rated sockets. The pinless design seems to be holding up well in use at the shop. Broaching is nice and clean. Fits well on hog ring studs of the impact tool I have been using. Finish is a nice smooth black oxide so long term storage will need the occasional rust inhibitor oil type wipe down. Long term quality remains to be seen, but I am impressed with the limited use I have had with them.

These sockets work quite well and handle working at an angle quite smoothly, they do seem to be a little more prone to getting sticky when dirt gets in them than the standard pin type. They basically use 4 splines to turn the socket, which looks to be quite strong, and a snap ring to hold the two pieces together, time will tell on how they last. The socket uses a flank drive so there is less chance of rounding off your fastener. The set comes with 3/8",7/16",1/2",9/16",5/8",11/16",3/4". The markings on the side are easy to read and if they wear off the size is also stamped into the metal on the socket itself. The rail that comes with it can be used in your tool box to keep the set organized, it is plastic and not very high quality but it does work, however I don't think it will last long. One of the things I don't like much is that there is quite a bit of twist or play in the socket itself, it is the worst when the socket is straight but not bad when at an angle. They do have a hole for the retaining pin on impact extensions and guns. The card says that they work up to 30 degrees which is about what I measured. The sockets are about 2 3/8" long and about 1" in diameter long. The metal seem quite decent and solid. They also have a lifetime warranty. All in all this seems to be a decent set of sockets

Whenever the job requires it, I have always used a separate universal joint with sockets before I found this set. This 7 socket set from Husky uses a lug and groove type system rather than the old and often times point of failure, the dowel pin. The old pin has been replaced with what appears to a much stronger and more flexible joint (see picture). This SAE set has 7 swivel and socket combinations of the most popular sizes. Each socket is easily identifiable with the size painted in gold on its side. The socket has a swing angle of 30 degrees from side to side. Time will tell on this sets actual durability and the strength of the lug/groove vs. the dowel pin. Overall, at this point, I am happy with this product and would recommend it.

Really helpful when space is tight. These are really low profile and tilt up to 30 degrees. Sometimes just getting on the bolt is the challenge. These are 6-pt sockets so the pinless type swivel is especially important. I really appreciate that the size is screened onto the drive end and engraved in the socket end making them easy to identify. Also, the plastic strip helps keep them organized but isn't so tight that you can't get them off easily if you are operating with only one free hand. A nice addition to the tool box when working on my old cars. I did find that a little extra lubrication helped them operate even more smoothly

This set of impact sockets is nice in that it gives to some flexibility when it comes to access some harder to reach nuts that need to be busted loose. The head of the sockets pivots and allows you to get into some hard to reach places. One things to remember is that the base of each socket that attached to the impact gun or even standard socket wrench is much larger than the head that attaches onto the nut, so it may limit you from accessing a 3/8" nut cause the base of the sockets is so large...see the pics. The socket holder is plastic and seems to do a decent job of holding the individual sockets, there is no way to hang it from a rack or magnetize it to a metal tool chest.
