          Broke within break-in period
There is another review on here that had experienced the same issue. I purchased this in Jan of 2023. During the initial 20min break-in the unit started off quiet and then started getting much louder. The unit was vibrating quite a bit and just before I turned it off the belt popped off. I visually inspected the flywheel and it was cracked. I had free delivery but unfortunately this return needs to be made in person - 60 miles away. I plan to try the dewalt brand next.

Leaked air out of box and leaks oil.
I fixed most of the air leaks. The drain at the bottom of the tank was only finger tight. The other leaks I'll re plumb the air lines someday when I get time. I also have a similar issue to jungle jim. Directly out of the box it leaks oil. Mine is leaking near one of the mounting bolts on the casting. I can not see a crack in the casting but the oil does get thru it. I guess I'll have to keep cleaning oil off and replenishing it. Such a shame that quality issues are existent in an American Product. When I go to work I try to make a product that someone would be proud to own. Not something they have to work on out of the box. The plus side. This compressor is VERY QUITE. Everyone who sees it comments about the audio level. If I did not have to ship this off somewhere I would prefer to have a quality compressor. It appears though that I am stuck with the poor workmanship that American companies now deliver. Signed "a sad quality manager".

              Two returns in 2 days.
First unit had two leaks and plenty of loose connections. Pressure regulator for tool was leaking air also. Took it back! Second unit had oil leak. Perfect! Waste 2 days back and forth and project was not even started. Purchased a similar one from Lowe’s and had way better experience!

                Not amazing but solid
First off, don't let the bad reviews deter you from buying this compressor if it fits your needs. There's always a small percentage of bad eggs that get passed the factory QC protocols but that's with any kind of product/brand. I had no leaks or issues with mine. I bought this compressor to mimic what I do at work (auto body) but on a much lighter home garage scale. It does that just fine but don't expect it run or have power like an industrial grade shop compressor. If you need that kind power just spend a little more and get the 60/80 gallon ones. But if that's not within your means this is probably the next best thing. Very quiet too.

The Flywheel bolt was loose and the flywheel fell off during the break in process.

                    Pretty Solid Product
Very good looking coming out of the box. This product runs great. Be sure to check for leaks. It had a leak from the main fitting coming out of the tank. The instructions tell you to fix any leaks as this tank may have been sitting for a while. When breaking the compressor in, be sure that all of the moisture is blown from the tank after your 20 min run. Moisture will build up in any tank. Last, be sure to grab an inline air filter to keep clean air through the tools used to perform your task!!!! This product will be a staple in my services.

Very happy with the purchase of this compressor! This replaces my 1995 12 gallon 1.5HP compressor...
Very happy with the purchase of this compressor! This replaces my 1995 12 gallon 1.5HP compressor, what a difference. The oil compressor is so much quieter than the old one and it has a much larger capacity. The adjustable regulator is very accurate and helps keep air tools at correct level. The first add on was an extended drain valve from Husky it really helps with draining the tank. The large air filled tires are a real plus even though it will probably not get moved around a lot.I did add a small baffle to direct the air toward the hotter parts of the compressor when running.Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it.

                      Leaked From New
I had high expectations for this compressor. I performed the break in procedure as specified in the manual. After I charged the compressor I noticed a leak near the pressure switch. I drained the tank and unscrewed the output side of the pressure switch. I’ve included a photo of what I found below. There was no thread tape or pipe dope used in assembly. I added some thread tape to the assembly. This repair procedure fixed the leak. One of the main functions of an air compressor is to hold air. Its frusturating having to work on a brand new compressor.

Required Disassembly to Fix Air Leak
I purchased online. Had shipped to store near by. Picked up Compressor. Brought it home. Plugged it in. Started it up and immediately had a leak in a couple of the nipples. Had to unwire, disassemble, apply tephlon tape to fitting. Reassemble and re attach wires. Problem Fixed. As for loudness of compressor...At startup compressor is 89db standing next to unit. 72db 30 feet away at start up. With compressor tank at 150psi, standing next to unit db was 101 and 76 db at 30 feet at 150psi tank pressure. Also, my unit is in garage. Echo could be making it louder. Hope this helps. Id still recommend unit. Great compressor for the money

Broke during break-in. Isn't it ironic?
During the last minute of the 20 minute break-in there was a loud clanging and the fan stopped spinning. I could see through the cover that the belt fell off. I took the cover off to investigate why it fell off and saw that the bolt that was supposed to attach the fan was almost falling out. The I saw the cracks in the fan. What kind of crap is this?? Assembled in the USA?? SHAMEFUL! Why does it seem to be so hard to buy anything whether made in America or China that actually works? Now I need to deal with the return or exchange process after 20 minutes of having this thing. Not sure which way to go yet. Consumers should be reimbursed for the trouble caused by faulty items. I also spent time adapting a moisture/particle filter on to the compressor before I started breaking it in. Now I need to undo all of that work. At least I learned the lesson to do the break-in first next time. Oh, did I mention that there was a burr on 5he pulley that was already starting to chew up the edge of the belt? Dang!!
