Broke after 20 minutes of light use
I guess you get what you pay for but I expected this to last way longer than it did. I had only used this Hoe for about 20 minutes before the metal collar came loose and the end of the wooden handle broke which allows the metal head to just fall out. I attempted to fix it but it's just too damaged. I would spend the extra money to get a higher quality garden hoe. We will see if the lifetime warranty allows me to get my money back.

      Decent garden hoe
This Husky garden hoe is a good size and weight. The 6-1/4" head is a good size for getting around a backyard vegetable garden. The head is made of two welded parts. It was easy to use. The foam grip makes it comfortable to use especially on a hot day when my hands start sweating and could slip on just a plain wooden handle. The handle is varnished and a good length. The attachment between the head and the handle appears to be secure. Seems like a decent garden hoe.

Excellent 51 inch wood handle hoe
This is an excellent 51 inch wood handle garden hoe. I like the thickness of the wood handle on the hoe. The hoe is made of heavy duty metal and the connection to the handle is really soild. It feels really good in your hands and this makes it very easy to use in the garden. It also has a large hole at the top of the handle to hang for storage. I have several flower beds around the house and a garden area in the back for vegetables. This is a great addition to my garden tools. This hoe is made to last a lifetime.

This garden hoe, having a fiber glass handle, is definitely stronger and lighter than any other garden hoe I've used before. It has a comfortable soft handle pad that helps to prevent blisters too. The weld on the steel blade to the handle appears to be done very well and it has a steel pin holding it to the handle so this thing should not come apart easily. Should last many, many years under normal use and if it doesn't it's guaranteed for life. Doesn't get any better than that !

I really like the way the grip on the handle of this rake makes it easy to use. Holding the rake by the grip allows you to let the weight of the tool to do the work instead of straining to break up the soil. I recently discovered a large rut in my treelawn where, apparently, someone ran off the road leaving me a large rut with a mound of dirt to break up and refill the rut. I did the job quickly and know if I need to work it out any more, this hoe will make it easy.

This is a high-quality hoe that performs exceptionally well, albeit with three deficiencies, two of which could be corrected. The tempered steel blade is almost 1/8-inch thick including the powder coating. The hoe is full-size at 55-7/8-inches long overall. The blade is 6.25-inches wide with a curvature of 1/8-inch—it is not straight, and it should be. Straightening it was a little complicated and fussy, but it involved a vise and three blocks—two on one side and one in the middle of the other side. The blade edge is ground to a 70-degree angle with a tip thickness of 0.036-inches—plenty sharp. The blade is raked back toward the handle at a 12-degee angle as it comes from the factory. The blade should hit the ground at a 25-degree angle so depending on your height, the blade angle should be adjusted by bending the tang which is not tempered. That is, If you set the top end of the handle at belly button height, the blade should be 25 degrees from the horizontal—see before and after photos. A vise again worked fine for this. The welded-on tang is secured to the handle with a steel ferrule with one rivet to the handle. It has a 1.25-inch diameter black fiberglass handle with an 8-inch-long foam rubber grip starting 1-inch from the top end of the handle. The grip is very nice, so what is the third deficiency? Since it is your lower hand that feels the impact from the chopping/hoeing action, that is where the foam grip needs to be positioned to be useful. A single longer grip—21-inches overall—would be perfect. However, keep in mind that most hoes do not have any grips. The tool only weighs 3-pounds and feels well-balanced with a balance point 38-inches from the top end of the handle. This hoe is a very good value for one with a fiberglass handle and it comes with a lifetime warranty from Husky. The hoe is made in Brazil.

Everybody needs a good, sharp hoe - whether you garden or not. My old hoe had been sharpened so many times, there wasn’t much blade left. With the fiberglass handle, this one is very light and does a great job. Whether chopping weeds in my garden or weeds in the front lawn, it does a great job. It’s also useful in the early Spring, cleaning the area where I plant my vegetables, scraping everything off so that I can start tilling the soil. I use my hoe all year long and can get into tight places where a herbicide isn’t necessary. The blade is already sharp and does very well. The rubber sleeve on the lightweight fiberglass handle is also a nice addition. Good investment.

Nice hoe. 56" long in total. Working part is 6.25" wide at the working edge, and measures about 4.25" high. Firmly attached to the crook with a very substantial weld. Painted black on what is some ferrous metal. Shaft is fiberglass and lightweight, yet doesn't flex measurably at all. Handle has a cushioned grip, it isn't so thick as to be in danger of ripping over time, but thick enough to provide for a good comfortable hold while working. The blade edge has a bit of a bevel to it, and has been adequately sharpened, but not so much so as to be a hazard. Overall a well designed and executed garden tool. Made in Brazil.
