If you're referring to guitar frets, no, they are not designed for them.
You could do it if you drilled a hole first, take off the blade and put it through the hole, then reattach the blade and use it like a jigsaw to follow a circle that you had previously drawn. A drill with a hole saw attachment would be a lot easier.

you can take a strand from a piece of wire rope. those stands would be cheap and strong.
The 5 pack that I purchased yesterday from Home Depot indicated 2 Fine, 2 Medium and 1 Coarse. HOWEVER, I found 1 Fine, 2 Medium and 2 Coarse.
