      Answer This Question

A:  I hate to say, “How thick?”, because I may not see your reply so let me say this: this little saw uses a blade that is about 1/4” wide. It is great for some projects that are light duty. However, I think if I were wanting to cut through something thick I would prefer a full size blade. The stability of a wider blade will help keep a straight line.

Q:Can this saw cut through 3/8 inch fiberglass rods

      Answer This Question

      A:  I would say no

      by|Apr 1, 2020

A:  Yes it could. If a super straight cut is required, the larger blade on a full size saw will perform better.

        by|Apr 17, 2020

A:  No, it is not recommended to be used on fiber glass.

          Garbage
This invention is pretty sleek looking until you start using. The blade will start cutting at a 45°angle and you will have to accommodate to make it work. Don’t buy this.

For clarification, this is for the blades themselves and not the frame of the saw. I've had one of these for 5 ish years and have worked well with cutting steel. But today, I go to replace the saw blade. I get a 4 pack of the blades that are stated for cutting metal. I was cutting through a 1 inch diameter steel bar with one of my OLD blades and got a 1/4 of the way through before the blade was too dull. So I picked them up, put in a new blade, start sawing again... And... The teeth of it didn't even dent the steel. I tried all 4 blades... All of which did jack squat on this bar. My old one that had already cut through some plate steel and a quarter of the way through this did more in 5 minutes of sawing than all 4 of the new ones couldn't dent. And I'm not exaggerating or being hyperbolic. Not a scratch with 4 new blades. Shameful.

This is a great product.  I own two of them, one for projects around the house and the other to keep in my truck so that it's on hand.  I've used both of them countless times and they work extremely well.  I actually prefer them over a larger full sized hacksaw, having found them more efficient.  Their small size also allows them to be used in tight spaces. I have used them to cut PVC pipes between wall joists, help a neighbor who locked herself out cut through a doorknob in her garage so we could break in, remove packaging wood from crates I was hauling home, trim trees in off-road areas, and even cut the horns off a deer that had been hit by a car so I could give my dog a nice fresh chew toy (and not pay a ridiculous amount for the antlers they sell at pet stores.) Affordably priced and durably crafted, this is well worth the investment.  It will hold its own and outperform far more expensive saws.  The handle is ergonomically crafted, allowing you to get aggressive cuts and make short work of most materials.  I've used mine on wood, plastic, and metal and was pleased with the results on each. I absolutely recommend this product.

              Poor excuse for a saw
It can't cut metal at all. Pretty much a worthless hacksaw that I'll be returning.

                Great Little Saw
This is a great little saw. I believe it was made to cut metal, so it should be even easier to use on wood. I just thought it would be sharper, but still, it does the job, and is safe and easy to use.
