Questions & Answers

Does this red wotkbench color same red as red Huskey toolbox

Asked by Dick March 30, 2021

Yes, the it is the same gloss red.

Vise mounting?

Asked by RickD March 23, 2021

If it is for light work, the front crossbar can be removed so that vises can be mounted to the wood top. If for heavy work, the crossbar should not be removed.

Where is it manufactured? If China, I will pass on their poor quality.

Asked by Bird March 11, 2021

Don't know where this was manufactured, but can assure you it is NOT poor quality. This is strong, well built, sturdy.

how to install a vise

Asked by RV March 5, 2021

I mounted a 4" vice using 5/16" x 1-1/2" Hex lag bolts using a 7/32 pilot hole into the wood. If you are considering a larger vice, you may want to drill through the top using the diameter of the vice mounting holes as a guide, then use the largest nut / bolt combination that will fit through the vice and top.

Asked by ez2c February 8, 2021

It is not recommended to alter the unit in any way. The cross brackets have not been load tested.

Asked by LY February 7, 2021

The caps themselves are plastic, the huge screws are brass in color, they may be coated but they aren't galvanized or stainless steel so over time I don't think they should be exposed to water

Why does this table require assembly, but the HD 6' Husky workbench comes pre-assembled? Also.......

Asked by Jeff February 5, 2021

Purchased this 6 foot table because the HD 6 foot was not as secure and was wobbly. I'm not sure why the HD comes assembled.

Easy to assemble. Be sure to follow the notes for the hole alignments that differentiate between the front and rear mountings. Very solid table and goes perfect with my Husky 48" workbench with peg board back. Put 2x12 boards underneath for a quick shelf mod to keep things off the ground.

Finally a tall and sturdy option for my work/art studio desk!
I've had the same childhood particle board corner desk for decades and it has been falling apart so I've been looking at adjustable height/standing height work surfaces for a while now. The sale price ($265) was only about $50 more than what another option I was considering from another store would've been. I waited over 10 long days for it to be shipped to the store and then went to pick it up. I measured my 2006 Volvo S60R sedan closely and had plenty of room. When I picked it up however, the front of the box caught on the metal posts that lock the seats in place so I couldn't actually slide it in all the way to close the trunk as planned because the box was taller than I expected and there was no way to get the angle to hoist it up over those metal latch posts. Anyway, I put my trunk lid down most of the way and secured the box. Unloaded alone was fun. I slide it out of my trunk and it slide nicely across the snow in my front yard to my front porch. Here I unboxed it and carried the parts in separately. Nothing is heavy except the solid wood top, but it was fine just bulky. It went together easily, I recommend using an extension tip on your drill/driver because the runner framing has little clearance. You'll need a size 14 socket and wrench to tighten. I wanted a standing height work surface for my home office and art studio (I do polymer clay, painting, resin, mixed media, vinyl, etc) and I have an enormous AIO computer that goes on it. No problemo for a table that holds up to 3000 lbs! I am 6 ft tall, have an adjustable stool, and I set the legs at the 13 hole setting which is notated to fit the chest drawers on casters that are available in the series. This height works just fine for me standing or on my stool, I may even go up another hole or so if I ever feel like taking everything off the top for a bit. I had no problems with drilled holes not lining up or anything, everything was perfectly straight. The wood top is smooth and almost slick but not glossy so there is no glare when I am doing videos. My upstairs is very very old and very very crooked. Before I flipped this beast over I installed the feet adjustment knobs and right off the bat put the feet that would be against the wall at the lowest setting and the feet away from the wall about 1.5 inches longer. Using a level I had to add another inch of length to get the table level. I like that I can adjust it with the table upright, just minimal lift up and you can hand-adjust even on carpet. I like the back brace bar to rest my feet on and to run/hide wires and cords on. This thing is very sturdy and attractive. I have it against a large square grid shelf (well the tallest I could fit with my tapered ceiling). I'm very happy with my new set up. Please note, it cannot be flipped from upside down assembly to right-side up by one person without making a pivot point. I brought up my small step stool, lifted one corner edge on to it, the was able to heft it up and over, it's just so top heavy. If you're like me and you have to put it together in a very small area, plan ahead for front vs back side so that you can flip it over and it will be the way you need it. The diagram pictures are tiny but you really only need to make sure you are differentiating between front and back.

Worst manufacturing I've seen from a Husky product.
This unit is on sale for a reason. The two main issues I had with this are the adjustable legs and the pre drilled holes for the stabilizers. One of the adjustable legs was either welded wrong or had misaligned holes, so would not align up at all. This was not a deal breaker yet as I was going to see if I could get a replacement. I also noticed, after coming back from reading a review, that the pre drilled holes for the stabilizers were in different areas- I didn't think much of this at first thinking the stabilizer bars were made to fit the way they were drilled. Nope. It looks like the table was placed wrong or the preprogrammed drill program was off during manufacturing as you'll see in my pictures. It's about 2 inches off. You might get lucky and get a good bench at a great price, but you might get one like mine and have to return it after spending a lot of time trying to figure it out.

I mounted a Bessey 4” vise to the corner and the bolt holes lined up perfect with the leg bolts of the table, so the vise is super stable bolted onto steel. The work bench went together easily and feels ultra sturdy. The wood top looks beautiful but I have already put a few small dents and scratches in the wood, it is not the hardest. Overall this table makes a great work station and I would buy a again.

Great Workbench and even better with casters
Excellent quality and easy to assemble. As suggested in a prior review I purchased 4” casters(12mm 1.75 pitch) from Service Caster Corporation and installed them without a problem. I also purchased the two door cabinets/w casters to go underneath the workbench. Only thing you will need to do is adjust the height of the workbench. (Nine holes Vs thirteen as outlined in the directions that came with the workbench)

"Husky" adjustable height bench lives up to its name.
So, I made this “pedestal” for my 1960 C77 Dream. I bought a Husky work bench from Home Depot, put locking casters to move it around (had to drill & tap new threads) bought some E track and a Condor chock… Garage space is at a premium with 2 cars and 4 motorcycles, so instead of taking any chances and damaging the bike this is my way around that problem. So now, both of my Dreams are safe, secure, and up out of the way.

Husky 6 feet Adjustable Workbench
Picked it up via curbside and it was able to fit in the back of an Infiniti qx60. Since it was too heavy to lift out of the car, I removed each piece out of the box from the car. Needed two people to lift the wood table piece though. Just finished assembling it and love it! Easy to assemble as long as you follow the instructions and look at the illustrations. As others mentioned, make sure you determine the back and front side of both the table and legs (the instructions will tell you) — see attached photo for those who need visuals like me. From there, assembling the rest is simple. I did not need to use a drill for the screws - just a hex wrench, a hex screwdriver (both provided) and an open end wrench (14mm). I also did not tighten the screws all the way in until all the pieces fit where they belong. As suggested by one reviewer, I bought (4) “Everbilt 4inch Medium Gray TPR Caster Stem Mount w/Brake 130 lbs weight capacity” (about $16 each) to attach to the legs, instead —see photo attached of caster Overall, took about 45 minutes for me to assemble myself.

Defective table, major flaw
If you are checking these reviews and decide to still purchase the workbench, upon opening your product CHECK THE PRE-DRILLED HOLES on the bottom of the table first. After wasting my evening assembling the work bench I struggled with the last steps of adding the stiffeners to the front and back of the table. With a few attempts and no luck I came online to check the reviews, and discovered many people purchasing this workbench are discovering the same issue. I was excited to see this workbench on sale from $380.00 to $265.00, upon discovering this major flaw, I am convinced it's not a coincidence these tables were on sale and Home Depot is trying to get rid of their faulty products.

Stable and big enough
This table is very stable and high-quality solid wood. I have changed it to an electronic workbench and have saved more than $1500.
