I settled on this because the kind I wanted wasn't available, wish I'd waited, but this will end up working just fine.
My biggest complaint is that they claim it will hold 300 lbs, the installation booklet that comes in the box says the same on the cover, but there is a sticker inside that you're supposed to put on the shelf after you install it and it says purchaser accepts all liability if you exceed 250 lbs. Or, install it wrong of course. Another minor point is the nut sizes are a mix of metric and imperial; no problem really, bit annoying and not what the paperwork says.
Still, it got the stuff off the lower shelves as we wanted, so it works.

This is a well built unit, BUT, most garage ceiling joists are perpendicular to the car, and this has to be mounted perpendicular, not parallel to the car as I had hoped. Being almost 7 feet long, you have to mount it far enough to the side to avoid hitting your head while getting in/out of the car. You can't mount one above your second car without a similar problem. I mounted two above one car. ALSO, don't try measuring the distance between ceiling mounts; just assemble the brackets, and with the help of another person, attach one end, then mark/drill/attach the other.
The 8' model appears to have brackets that mount parallel to the cars/perpendicular to the joists.

The setup required a little extra planning to find the best mounting in my garage, but the install was easy. The system is sturdy and features an adjustable height which allows for striking a good balance between accommodating for more storage space and managing head-height (for walking under it).

Good quality and sturdy with one minor problem
OK, this product is great for freeing up lots of storage space around your garage. We installed the larger 60" shelf (there is also a 48" shelf available). One necessary and difficult part is drilling into existing ceiling studs to anchor the shelves using lag bolts. I recommend using a good quality stud finder. It is awkward drilling upwards while standing on a ladder. The ONE PROBLEM was that the instructions said that the ends of the holders must be 69" apart on the ceiling. I did this and found that the shelves were too far apart, and realized if the holders are exactly 67.5" apart everything fits together properly. CHECK before drilling and installing lag bolts so you don't have to undo it and redo one half of it (like I did). Once this step was accomplished the rest of installation was pretty easy using the illustrations. The lettering of all the nuts and bolts in their containers was a big plus when doing the installation as well. When it was all finished, all our containers fit up there nicely and the shelves are plenty sturdy. They may cost a fair amount but you are getting a very sturdy shelf for your money. Only 4 stars because of the installation issue.

So a couple of things to note when buying one...
So a couple of things to note when buying one of these , the mounts on top are directional meaning they only mount one direction in to the roof truss. In other words , if you want the rack mounted up against a wall going North to South and your Roof trusses run East to West you would only be able to secure it to your ceiling using 1 of the 2 Mounting holes. I was able to fix this by rotating the mounts but then the holes on the pole are on the wrong side to connect to the lower hardware. I still used it but ended up drilling new holes in the arm hanging from the ceiling to connect the rack. Not a hard repair if you have a drill . Honestly this could all have been easily avoided if the manufacture used a square mounting plate with 4 holes instead of 2.
