Answer This Question

A:  We would recommend consulting with an electrician to redo the wiring. As is, the fan is designed to run continuously when plugged into the wall outlet. You may be able to rewire to your HVAC motor to sync.

A:  As it is a standard 120v fan, it could be integrated very easily, I would think. As a Ship's Engineer, I could do it. If you know electricity at all, it would not be difficult. Simply wire it in paralled with your furnace fan motor, which would allow it to work in synch with it.

      Answer This Question

A:  It is very quiet, at least the one I have installed on my Greenhouse.

      by|Mar 28, 2022

A:  Mine is installed between the ceiling and roof of a screened porch to lower the temperature both in that space, but to also reduce the heat radiated from the ceiling into the area below. Noise level is fairly low, but noticeable. However, the discharge is within ten feet of my usual seating position so that is the major source of the sound which is not objectionable in any way. It is not necessary to increase voice levels when conversing or volume of anything you may want to listen to.

        by|Mar 29, 2022

A:  6" Booster Fan noise dB is rated at 48.

          by|Mar 28, 2022

A:  It's pretty quiet -- sorry for the qualitative answer -- but the fan itself did not last long, i.e., one winter of daily but intermittent use.

Good quality duct fan. It works fine. Not loud, even at full speed. I have a speed controller connected, but didn’t really need it. Nice to have. Photo shows my set up, one exhaust and one for air supply. I underestimated the flow for my needs, 240 CFM isn’t enough for me. I’m sure that it’s sufficient to move air along in a small duct. I would recommend .

Our basement had odor due to high humidity during the summer months. Internet search indicated that best solution is to vent the stale humid air out of the house and replenish it with fresh dry air from the living area. You can buy a ready made unit to do this for couple thousand dollars or make one for under $100 using this fan with flexible duct and a humidistat fan control. I used this 6" 240 CFM fan to vent the damp smelly air out of the house thru a 4" outside vent. To do this I bought two 6" to 4" reducing couplings and taped the joints as shown in the picture. This is installed above the dropped ceiling and the fan is controlled by a humidistat in the wall. Whenever the humidity rises the fan vents the smelly air to the outside. It is fairly quiet and well made with metal fan blades rather than cheaper plastic material. Now we have no smelly humid air in the basement. Great inline fan unit.

***Inline ducting fan*** The Good: Used as an inline bathroom exhaust fan, and it works as a great. I Just shoved it in the ducting and sealed the edges with weather stripping. The old fan in our bathroom was very dated (and also inline), so i was going to have to cut a hole to fit in the standard new models. The Bad: This fan is not as quiet as advertised, The humming/whooshing sound is about as loud as conversation. The power cord is WAY too long... 6 feet is a joke, i only needed like 6inches (I had to shorten it).

Haven’t installed yet but have powered up and it seems to run strong. Assuming it lasts it should be a solid purchase.
