Not built to last
I bought this ice maker nearly two years ago. It's great at making ice, as long as you keep it descaled. I use filtered water but the water in Indiana is very very hard. I went to fill my cup this morning and there is RUST on all of the ice making elements. I use this every single day, so I'm quite upset.

I purchased this item in February 2020 and use it daily! It works perfectly and puts out ice within 5-7 min. This is a great product and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anyone looking for a countertop ice maker!
Ps, the Magic chef brand sucks- it never made one cube and I returned it for the IGLOO brand! Best decision!!

Ok, I've only had this ice maker for a short time but it seems to work pretty well. I bought it because our fridge (a GE french door unit with bottom freezer) has an ice maker in the door that doesn't put out very much ice. In the summer when there is a high demand, it just can't keep up. I decided I would try one of these counter top ice makers to make up the difference. While I've only made a gallon sized bag of ice with it, I did so in a couple of evenings of operation and that included using some of the ice for drinks. It's not real quiet, but it isn't all that bad either. It becomes background noise after a while. I like the clear door as it is interesting watching the ice making process. It's a bit heavier than some units, but also makes more ice than those units. I'm hoping to take this unit camping so as to make enough ice to not have to buy bagged ice. I'll modify this review if possible when I have done so to let everyone know how it works in that capacity. If it works for a few years, I'll be happy.

this machine needs constant attention, after the second ice drop the red light comes on as if the basket was full but its not its 3/4 empty. you then pull that forward and repeat 4 more times until the basket the ice bucket is full.
