A: Hi Vicki, thanks for reaching out. Our sink flange is an accessory, and it will be up to you if you’d like to use it even if you don’t have a garbage disposer. Just make sure that the opening of your sink hole is standard 3.5 inches diameter and up to ¾ inches thick sink. For further assistance, don’t hesitate to contact us via https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask. Thanks!

A:Â Hi Linda, thank you for reaching out and we're sorry for the issue you experienced. We have stringent quality control methods in place to ensure you receive a high quality, long-lasting product. The Oil Rubbed Bronze sink flange has a powder coating on the stainless-steel flange. Powder coated finishes tend to be more delicate and may scratch or peel over time if exposed to chemical or abrasive cleaners. We recommend using a damp cloth for cleaning purposes. For further assistance, please reach out to us via https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask.

Q:Does this just pop on over the existing stainless ring? Or does it replace that during disposal installation? The Blanco unit I bought sat proud of the sink surface and got gunk stuck in it. I want to ensure this doesn't do same.

A: Replacement during installation unfortunately.  The plastic inside is removable to clean out the junk. Great feature. However my paint around the top rim chipped. Can’t just replace it.Â
by|Aug 29, 2022
A: No it’s not a retrofit kit, you must replace the whole thing.Â

Black paint chips
We installed 2 of these for our sink and while they looked great initially, after a few months of use the paint has started chipping. Would not buy again.

Flange paint chipping after 4 weeks
Just remodeled our kitchen and within 4 weeks the paint is chipped away on the flange. We also have been extremely careful with the products we use. Would never buy this again.

Peeling After 9 months
The piece looked gorgeous in our sink until it started peeling. And I’ve read Insinkerators responses- no, we don’t use harsh chemicals- only plant based soaps and a cloth to clean it. Disappointed that our great kitchen remodel looks torn up now.

Hi Jess, thank you for posting a review and we’re sorry about your experience with our product. If the part wasn’t exposed to chemical or abrasive cleaners, like any other sink flange, powder-coated finishes tend to be more delicate and may scratch or peel over time. We recommend using a damp cloth for cleaning purposes. Again, we appreciate you for reaching out. If we can do anything to help you out, please contact us at https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask.

Junk - paint or whatever it called is chipping off
I had a new sink and garbage disposal installed back in early February and the paint or whatever its called is now chipping off.
Is there an alternative product with better quality?

Hi golfnutt8, we’re sorry to hear about your experience with your sink flange. We’ve been making this product for many years, and we can honestly say that the failure rate on this accessory is very small and well below industry standards. Exposure to chemical or abrasive cleaners can affect the surface as well as any sharp item that might scratch, nick, or gouge the finish. We recommend cleaning it with a damp cloth. If you need further assistance, please let us know by reaching us here: https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask.

3 month old flang chipping
We redid our kitchen and purchased a new sink needing this new flang for our garbage disposal in Matte Black. It was only in our new sink for 3 months before it started chipping. I am very careful and DO NOT SCRUB my sink. My beautiful black sink is now marred by the chipped flang. I am totally disappointed in this product.

Hi Bridgetreb, thank you for your review. Customer satisfaction is always a number one priority for us, and we’re sorry that wasn't demonstrated to you with what happened with your sink flange. The matte black sink flange has a baked, powder coating on the stainless-steel flange. Powder-coated finishes tend to be more delicate that’s why it should be cleaned with a damp cloth. We know how frustrating this can be. If we can do anything to help you out, please contact us at https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask.

Saddly Disappointed
We remolded our kitchen 1 year ago. We installed sink flange in white. The finish on the flange is peeling.. Please know this is with gentle usage. Very disappointed my beautiful kitchen remodel is not the lasting beauty I expected. I would not recommend this product and am very sad that I chose it.

Hi Phillip, thanks for sharing your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience with your sink flange. Several reasons can affect the finish of the flange, such as prolonged exposure to chemical or abrasive cleaners, wear and tear, a scratch, nick, or gouge from a sharp item. Also, powder-coated finishes tend to be more delicate which is why we recommend using a damp cloth for cleaning purposes. If we can do anything else for you, please reach us at https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask.

Poor finish. Chips very easily.
Like other reviewers, our experience with the flange in matte black has been very disappointing. Started chipping and flaking within months. Photos attached are after one year. Will be replacing with a flange with a non-powdercoated finish. Note that after chatting with Insinkerator, despite the item description, they do not recommend coated flanges be used with their batch feed disposers as the stopper could speed up wear. Does not explain the majority of the chipping on our flange, however.

My black matte flange flaked in six-months of installation.
I purchased this black matte flange to match my Blanco composite sink and be functional with my new InSinkErator garbage disposal. Within six months of the install the flange chipped as I was wiping the sink with a soft cloth and water! I have never used ANY abrasive product on the flange OR sink. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this product and am now questioning the quality of the garbage disposal. I do not recommend this product to anyone. Very frustrated.

Brushed Stainless Steel is the best!
I would only purchase this flange in brushed stainless steel as it not only looks the best but you don’t have to worry about paint peeling off like you do with a colored flange. I learned this lesson several years ago when I bought the flange in venetian bronze and the finish started to peel away. I have a gray Blanco sink and the brushed stainless steel is perfect but I would choose brushed stainless regardless of the color sink.
