this door uses an MDF clad particle board as framing and MDF as panels. This will help to prevent shrinkage and cracking of the finish over time.
We like the features and it is a good value for a prehung door. The primer leaves some orange peel which will go away after light sanding and painting. This being molded MDF gives a perfect surface impression, no wood grain or wood defects - something to consider when using it in a renovation/restoration project.

First off, I ordered this sad door back in January. It only arrived late April.
It is Sooooo poorly made. The edges are rough to the point that all the sanding in the world will not smooth them out. A pathetic attempt. Had I known how bad this door was, I would never have gotten it.
The company should be ashamed to put out such a piece of crap.

The installation was very easy and the finish was such high quality. I never had a door the open and close so smoothly as JELD-WEN. Well worth the money paid for this door. If I was rating the JELD-WEN door from 1 to 10, I would give it a 15. The style option gave me the look I wanted for my home gym/training room. I'm a golf coach and trainer this door fit the circumstances on both accounts.

Great door, love the look
Love the look of these doors. Nice shaker style but angle around the panels slightly softens the look. Better than a hard 90 degree angle. We installed 5 pre-hung and also hung 2 slabs in the doorway into the den. I really wanted something different from the standard 6 panel and these are the best! Love them!

Jeld Wen build quality terrible
As a previous homebuilder with nine years of experience, I have an eye for quality and attention to detail. I waited awhile to review these but shouldn't have. I purchased 14 doors. They were on sale at the time and my wife and I had purchased these solid core craftsman doors to replace the hollow core ones in our home we are slowly remodeling. The doors arrived on a skid and completely wrapped in plastic which made them impossible to view for damage. We accepted them and brought them home. I began to install them and noticed exposed trim nails first. Not a problem as I figured I would just break them off and hammer them in and wood fill. Then I noticed a warped door, so I put that one for a closet door. The sticking is also barely tacked on and not square as the previous reviewers had mentioned. The sticking is also bowed so the door does not seal square against it. I also believe the strike plate is bored incorrectly so when you install a lock set the door rattles inside the strike. Make sure to get adjustable strikes with the bend tab so the door will close silently. Some doors have the hinges inset inside the door cleanly following the hinge, while a few are simply screwed to a bored out rectangular inset. While the doors are a huge improvement to the standard flat hollow-core doors we had, the price of these doors is high considering the build quality. They don't have these in stock in the store so be careful ordering and know that they will be flawed and need repairs once purchased. I'll try to add some images later if possible.

The door and the jamb were too tight. Even before putting it in the rough opening, the door would not close cleanly in the jamb. We had to build a new jamb, which makes the whole "pre-hung" thing useless. Poor manufacturing.

Three stars may be generous. Packaging did not provide protection of the doors. Handling at the store level was not good. Doors were knicked up and damaged but we were at our vacation home in TX for a limited time, so we did not have time to mess around with returns, etc. We ordered primed doors. The doors took paint well. The solid core doors are more touchy than anticipated. Wanted to trim the bottom but did not since I was fearful that the chip board would be exposed--manufacturer severely limits amount that can be trimmed. Finish layer is very thin and sensitive to damage. They are not as durable as expected. I am concerned that these doors will not hold up as well as expected. I have used solid core doors with a wood finish layer in the past that is more durable than these doors.

slightly better than the slab doors from them
I left a review on some slab doors I purchased of these. They are just not consistent. The jamb was wanky and needed immediate adjustment. The milling for hinges was poor and required sanding and clean up. Primer is meh snd not consistent
