    Thank you for your inquiry. I am not sure I understand your question. The unit has one operable sash which slides to open position. The glass itself is not made to "come out", unless for some reason it gets broken or has another issue that would require a skilled technician to replace the glass. Hope this answers your question.

    Can this be painted / need prime? (And I understand they can be ordered that way,)

    Thank you for your inquiry. We do not recommend the painting of our vinyl product line. When we offered painted units, the painting was done in the factory, and not recommended in the field. We no longer paint our vinyl in the factory. The painted line has been discontinued and replaced with laminate.

    Poor Quality
    Contacted manufacturer about a v4500 slider frame that had cracked along the closing edge by normal opening/closing. I was told by support that vinyl is not covered under warranty and I would need to purchase a replacement. The lifetime warranty they advertise is apparently not valid even though it lists the vinyl as covered. Do not recommend this product.

    LIKE MANY OTHER REVIEWS, WE HAVE A JELD-WEN WINDOW THAT IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND HAS CRACKED. THE COMPANY DENIES WARRANTY COVERAGE, CALLING THIS "SPONTANEOUS CRACKING" WHICH THEY WILL ONLY REPLACE IF IT OCCURS WITHIN A YEAR OF THE DATE THE UNIT WAS BUILT. THEIR SUPPOSED 10 YEAR WARRANTY IS A MYTH. GET ANOTHER BRAND IF YOU NEED WINDOWS!!

    Product i ordered was in black exterior / white interior. Shipping was decent on time (3 weeks) ....
    Product i ordered was in black exterior / white interior. Shipping was decent on time (3 weeks) . Packing was done right, however, the window finish when I unmasked it was very, poor condition. They did not take the time in painting the black side thoroughly, has lines of white everywhere , ALOT of overspray of Black on the white side and chips/ splits. For 400+ $ I would’ve spent less on the all white and painted it myself. Clearly time and effort was at a minimum with this window. Customer service was very nice and understanding but asked me return window back to Home Depot and then wait another 3-4 weeks. Unacceptable my eyes so I will still be installing window and refinishing myself , very disssapointed and now concerned with a matching patio sliding window on its way too.....

    The V-4500 series used to be sold in stores. I had to order this one as they no longer are. Not that big of a deal. I am not sure if they are just rushing the work on the windows now, but there will adhesive coming out of at least 5 different places in the window. The slide lock also did not line up and I had to adjust that piece. I have bought 6 other of these windows and never had issues like this. I a glad it was the last one from for the house. I spent more on these windows then say the 2500 series as they had been better quality, but not this window.
