Q:Can spray in insulation be sprayed on and around this conduit in an attic space?
by|Jan 5, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  I don't see why not. Spray insulation is put on wiring that is not protected with conduit. Having the wire running though conduit is only needed if you think you'll need to change or pull new wire through the same location.

Q:Is this rated for installing in an insulated house wall? Thinking of upgrading my existing catv and want to run it in conduit/raceway so future upgrades will be easier.

    Answer This Question

A:  It’s fine to go in a wall prior to spray foam insulation. However, it doesn’t need to. Yes upgrades later are the reason to do it. At $65 a stick it’s kinda insane!

Did a good job for me had just enough flexibility to get around other pipes to run generator line.
Gives some flex but still ridgid.

      Works well
Toss up between metal and PVC. Easier PVC to work with. Metal requires more hours to bend and set. Torch was easy to manipulate angle. CANNOT do perfect 90 degrees

Easy to cut with a hacksaw and the bell end fits on nicely for straight and the angles. I'll be using a lot more of this as the job expands. Used this to bury low voltage cable for landscape lighting. Also used larger diameter conduit by cutting into short sections to make splice boxes as extra protection between the main run and the light fixture wiring. The splices are almost always where problems are found.

Great for hiding security camera video cables
We just installed a security camera system on our home and didn't want the white power/video cables stapled to the eaves. We decided to try this PVC conduit and are very pleased with the professional looking results. The pipes are great value and we mixed 1/2" and 3/4" conduit depending on the amount of cable going through any section. We found that 1/2" will hold two camera cables quite snugly while 3/4" is needed to accommodate 4 camera cables or camera plus Ethernet cables. It is flexible enough to bend (we ran it through holes in the roof trusses in places and needed to bend it to fit between the trusses. It was tough enough to hit with a rubber mallet without deforming and cuts easily with a sawzall or jigsaw with a metal blade or by hand with a hacksaw. Once you have dry fitted the attachments, it cements in place using the PVC primer and cement that we found in the plumbing aisle.
