James Hardie HardiePanel Sierra 8 Cedarmill Vertical Siding is a fiber cement siding designed to mimic the look of real wood siding with less maintenance, better wear and a long life. Sierra 8 Panels feature a vertical groove that runs the length of the board every 8 in. to add interest and detail. HardiePanel exterior panel siding is Engineered for Climate and designed to hold up to the changing weather conditions in the environment where it is installed. Noncombustible cladding complies with ASTM E136, does not burn and will not attract insects and pests including woodpeckers and termites. HZ10 formulated house siding is made to withstand high temperatures, humidity, moisture, sun, hail, tropical storms and hurricane winds. Board is pre-primed using a primer with a yellow hue allowing for maximum paint adhesion on the jobsite. Paint it any color within 180 days of installation using an acrylic water-based exterior house paint.

You Install Vertical. Depending on wither this is a replacement Siding or new Construction on a home or building. If it is a replacement, remove the old existing siding, check the sheathing board, if it has one, studs, bottom or top band board, insulation to see if it is wet or the correct size for the walls, I would recommend R-19 or higher R-Rating, Replace any rotten wood, sheathing if it has any then Install the James Hardie Board Panels

This depends on what type of siding you are wanting to go over, if it is a smooth siding, you could do it. But not on overlap siding. I do not recommend this, you need to remove the old siding first, then check the structure of the walls.

This siding is amazing! aside from burning through a saw blade cutting it... its 100% waterproof! I put a scrap piece in a bucket of water for a week, still the same, no changes! Ill never need to replace my siding again! This product is heavy, but it will be the last time you ever need to replace the siding! Paints well also. Paid about $35 per 4x8 sheet, well worth the extra cost.

This is the first time using hardie panels, they are well worth the extra money. When you know its going to last a very long time. I cut my own strips since I had extra material. I would highly recommend this product.
