Q:How long should you keep in here after the seeds start to sprout?

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. You can transplant to garden/container once all dangers of frost has passed. We suggest sowing seeds in the peat pellets 6-8 weeks before that time. You can search your average last frost date based on zip code if needed. Once all dangers of frost has passed then you can transplant peat pellet, plant and all into the soil. If plants need to stay in starter kit longer, it's safe until roots start to poke out the sides of the pellet. At that point, if still freezing outside, it's best practice to transplant (pellet and all) into a peat pot for example. Our 4" round peat pot or sku 1001054321 is designed for that purpose. Then once temps are above freezing you can plant the peat pot, peat pellet, plant and all into the soil. Hope this helps however if you need further assistance don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team at 508-285-5800 or at info@ferrymorse.com. Thanks again and our best to you this season.

Q:Can you put a peach seed that has started to germinate in them and put in a 8 inch pot to grow?

        Answer This Question

A:  I believe that a peach seed/pit would be too large for this application.

        by|Jan 4, 2022

A:  Thank you for your question. Due to the size of a peach seed we would recommend not using the pellet and use Jiffy Seed Starting Mix, sku 1004685325 to fill your pot and grow. Our best to you this year and thanks again.

These are great for starting my garden plants in. I also like that I’m able to reuse the tray with new pucks

Easiest and quickest way to start seeds
Let me start by saying I looked up a YouTube video on how to use this because I didn’t want to mess up. I’m glad I did because I found 2 useful tips that aren’t in the instructions. 1) use warm water when starting the pellet 2) you can use a pen to burrow out a tiny hole for the seed. I was using these to grow cucumbers, jalapeños, bell peppers, and Georgia Southern Collards. ALL of my plants are thriving. I kept them in the peats for roughly 2 weeks before planting them in their final home.
