Q:So there is a tank for detergent and an adjustable valve?
by|May 31, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for visiting The Home Depot website. The PR-4200GM Pressure Washer has an adjustable valve. However, it does not have a built-in tank for detergent. These are equipped with a detergent hose to be placed in your detergent receptable.

A:  Thank you for visiting The Home Depot website. No, the water pressure is preset on washers, and it is not able to be adjusted. We do have the 2800psi and 3200 psi models available on The Home Depot website. We hope this helps.

          Perfect for homeowner use
I'll start with my only complaint - either in storage or shipment, the package must have been turned sideways because it arrived with a large oil stain on the box on one side. Upon opening much of the motor and support were covered in motor oil. I cleaned everything off as best I could with degreaser and towels. Still has some residual oil making its way off the engine and mounts. And the air filter was soaked so I had to order a new one. Very annoying that this was the initial experience. Motor does not need to be shipped with oil, user can easily add on initial setup. Once cleaned up I added motor oil to the fill level, filled the gas tank, flipped the gas switch to on and choke to start. It took 2 pulls to start right up. I let it run on half speed for 10 minutes, and then 3/4 speed for a half hour. This burned off any additional oil that found its way into the exhaust and surrounding parts. Power is so much more than my old electric powerwasher (2,800 psi vs 1,600 psi). This new gas model is exactly what I need for around the house. Plenty of power to do homeowner tasks, pavers, house wash, general cleaning. It's easy to run, easy to move. and has plenty of hose length. And the three included hose tips are just what you'll need. The motor is a bit louder than my lawn mower, but I wont be standing near it for long periods of time so that's fine. If it really bothers me I'll put a better muffler on it, but overall it's a good machine, As long as it lasts i'm looking forward to ditching my electric model.

          Good, with minor issues
Overall a very good machine. Power is great, cleaning is great, only issue is starting. What I have found to work is a two fold solution. After using I shut the machine off and make sure it has zero pressure left. As with many small engines I have I use a small amount of starter fluid if it doesn’t start after 5 pulls! The other issue is if you use ethanol gasoline them be sure to use a fuel preserver! Ethanol free gasoline works best. Power, it has plenty to remove stubborn stains. We like it for removing mold on our driveway! Cones with oil installed but check level before every use. Handle is exceptionally strong and sturdy. Overall good machine with a minor starting issue!

          Great powerful pressure washer
This is a pretty great machine that has a lot of good features on it. The instruction manual is large and comprehensive which I appreciate. My unit has the John Deere branded motor. The manual says there is one with a honda engine but this engine looks identical to honda motors I have on other equipment. So something to address. People have talked about how hard the pressure washer is to start. I did also experience this problem and would like to expound on it. This has a very powerful pump on it so the pressure generated by that pump is very high. If you run into the issue where you cant hardly even pull the cord pull the trigger on the spray gun to release the pressure and it will start right up. Another thing to note that I don't know if people did this. Make sure to run the carburetor out of fuel before putting it away and use ethanol free gas. The motor does call for it especially since its a seasonal tool you should only run ethanol free in it to keep the carb from gumming up. To run the carb out of fuel there is a fuel shutoff valve just below the choke and throttle. Just shut it off and let the engine run untill it dies and you're good to go. Ok now thats out of the way. I love that this is an oil lubed pump. It looks very similar to one that they use at a car wash which means you're going to get a long life out of it. The view glass for the pump oil is great also because it gives you a quick easy way to check the oil level. This thing really puts out a lot of water at a good pressure. Something that I was amazed at was the size of the hose and the size of everything. It really is designed to move a lot of water. I love that the pump has a pressure adjustment knob. That way you can wash dirt or stuck on debris off of your equipment or drive way and then you can adjust it down to not damage the paint on your car or the paint on your house. This does feel and look very industrial/heavy duty and I love it. I love the heavy duty frame, I love that the tires are solid so no flat tires on your pressure washer after its sat for months during the winter. I've had others that had pneumatic tires and its one thing that you shouldn't have to be worrying about on your pressure washer. Ok for a few things I don't like. the John Deere branded motor. I'd prefer it to have one from a larger manufacturer so that if something breaks I can fix it with readily available parts. So far I've had no issues with the engine but it has an air filter and there are always wear parts on an engine and it'd be nice to be able to get parts easily when you need them. Second complaint is looking at the oil drain plug its pretty much impossible to do an oil change without getting oil all over the frame. Granted it is a pressure washer so you could just clean it off but its an inconvenience.

Heavy duty pressure washer for all your needs
This John Deere pressure washer is exactly what you expect from a Deere- solid, heavy construction with a large engine for a pressure washer and the heavy duty 50 ft. hose and gun for washing all your dirty walkways, slabs, driveways, brick, pool decks, machines, etc. Comes with three different quick-connect nozzle ends for 15*, 25*, and detergent modes. Easy to wheel around with large no-flat rubber tires and easy to set down with large cylindrical rubber stoppers on the bottom. Comes in several pieces and you connect the handle onto the main cart via 4 bolts (2 each side), the extension Lance to the trigger gun, and then the hose to the gun and main valve connect on the cart.

          Powerful
This review is for the John Deere 4200 PSI 4.0 GPM Gas Cold Water Pressure Washer. It arrived on a pallet and in a thick cardboard box without any issues. The oil is already in the motor but I made sure it was at the proper lever. The handle is the only assemble required and took me five minutes. This is a good looking pressure washer but it is heavy. The initial start took some time but after that it has only taken a few pulls. Weather has not been the best for testing this but I washed our pool deck on a half decent day. This will work great for just about any job but this machine is more suited for large and tough jobs.

Powerful and Easy to Use Pressure Washer
This is a heavy duty pressure washer! Over the years I've had small ones that were okay but I'm excited to have this gas-powered model. Assembly was very easy. You're basically attaching the handle. Your hose attaches at the back of the pressure washer. There is a compartment where you can add detergent/solution to be sprayed with the water. You have three different nozzle attachments which is nice for tailoring the spray stream and strength to the job. The trigger is easy to squeeze. The directions are clear and be sure to heed them--have the trigger locked when you start up the pressure washer. The design and wheels are good for moving it around your patio/driveway/yard while you wash. It starts easily and is powerful. This is a great tool for keeping your home, patio, equipment, etc. clean.

          Commercial Grade Pressure Washer
This gas-powered pressure washer (Model PR3200GM, manufactured by John Deere) feels as heavy-duty and sturdy as it looks. The two wheel cart is absolutely necessary for mobility, and it takes two people to lift it onto the bed of a pickup! I specifically liked that it is a cold-water washer and connects to an outdoor faucet with an ordinary garden hose (not included). The 50-foot high-pressure hose that is included is a bright industrial yellow. It comes with all the pieces, and do-it-yourself, on-the-job assembly is Home-Depot easy.

          Very Difficult To Start
We'll start with the pros: this pressure washer was really easy to assemble, the necessary oil was included, and the handle assembly has lock nuts so they won't vibrate loose, something that has been an issue with every similarly made pressure washer I've owned. Now for the glaring con: we can't get this thing to run. We followed the starting procedure and ended up pulling the rope probably 40 times. We only got it to turn over once we resorted to removing the air filter. Maybe if you have a lot of upper body strength you'll fair better, but this isn't practical for us.

We're sorry to hear that. If you haven't already, you may want to take a look through the Operator's Manual. Towards the back there is a "Troubleshooting" section that may help. If the issue continues, we recommend contacting your local dealer for further assistance. You can find their contact information at Deere.com/Dealer.

John Deere 3200 PSI 2.7 GPM Cold Water Gas Pressure Washer
I received this after many shipping delays, only to find it damaged with oil all over everything. Their are pieces broken off the pump which render this presure washer useless. The parts that need replaced will need to be done by an engine repair service, so at this point it is sitting in my garage waiting for someone to reach out to me to let me know how to handle this. I sent an email to Home Depot 8 days ago and have yet to receive a reply.

          Powerful & heavy duty...
I opted for the 4200 PSI unit, with the John Deere engine. I was very concerned about some other reviewers’ starting problems, so as soon as I got a 40 degree day out, I hooked this thing up to test it. First, I read the manual, which gives specific instructions on how to start and stop it. Started up on the 2nd or 3rd pull, no problem. Ran it for about 5 minutes, sprayed some water, shut it down. When re-starting, even though you think it's warmed up, you have to give it about a half a choke, then it starts right up. If you have the choke all the way up, it won't start, or all the way down, it won't start. I did about three 5 minutes sessions, also testing out the detergent sprayer, and it started the same way each time. Not sure what it would do if you ran it for a half an hour or something; it's still winter out! It's a very powerful machine, much stronger than the high pressure consumer units I'm used to. The water comes out in a conical fan shape, which is different than ones I've used before. While the detergent function works just fine, I'm not sure how I will like having to haul an extra bucket of detergent around every time I move the machine. I guess time will tell. It's a very heavy duty machine, that seems to start just fine. Pretty pleased to own it.
