This John Guest 5/16 in. x 1/4 in. Push-To-Connect Polypropylene Reducing Coupling Fitting is compatible with soft copper tubing but is not recommended for use on Hard copper tubing.
Hi, The John Guest 5/16 in. x 1/4 in. Push-To-Connect Polypropylene Reducing Coupling Fitting can be used on soft copper. We do not recommend this fitting for hard drawn copper pipe. I've listed the tube types that will work with the John Guest Polypropylene fitting. If you have any more questions you can call tech support at 877-700-4242. (Tube Types) Plastic Tube - Polyethylene, nylon and polyurethane conforming to the tolerances shown below. For soft tubing or thin wall tube we recommend the use of tube inserts. Braided Tube - Use of Tube to Hose Stems listed on page 14 is essential when using braided tube or hose. The use of clamps to retain braided tube on barbs is recommended. Metal Tube (soft) - Brass, copper or mild steel conforming to the tolerances below. Metal Tube (hard) - We do not recommend John Guest fittings for hard metal or chrome plated tubes. (Kind regards,)
This Push-to-Connect Fitting is rated to 150 psi at 70°F and 60 psi at 140°F.
