Will not pivot out-of-the-box!
The long piece pivots on a screw (which was installed with thread-locking compound by a Circus Strongman.)
To loosen it, I wrapped it in a towel, squeezed in a vice and used my big Makita cordless and all my weight pressing downward to prevent stripping.

Buyers Beware! This holder will never be flush!
I wish I had read the reviews before purchase and install. There is a design flaw which will never allow the tissue holder to be flush. This was installed professionally, used a stud on one side for extra support as recommended. The added allen wrench does NOT take care of the problem. The matching towel bar is fine. My question to Kohler: Please suggest an alternative toilet paper holder that closely matches the Alteo towel bar. The finish is bronze. Seems like Kohler needs to reexamine its engineering staff. :(

Poor Design
Installed as per instructions. The pivoting part sits WAY to far from the wall. Looks like a sloppy installation. Thinking about using another product except I already have the same towel bar ring.

Kohler Alteo Pivoting Toilet Paper Holder
Kohler Alteo Pivoting Toilet Paper Holder looks great. I like the fact the toilet paper can easy rotate on this holder....no more ripping one sheet of toilet paper off. Pivoting feature works!

Matches our faucets
Purchased this toilet paper holder as it's the one that matches our faucets. It's nice but very wide. Notice from the picture how much it sticks out from the sides of the toilet paper. As long as you like the style, it's perfect.

Classes up the joint
Love the pivoting arm!! Replaced a recessed tp holder, which was a pain to use- this tp holder makes life just a little bit easier. The pivoting arm is only a credit card width from the wall, while the other side is flush- hardly noticeable. Install instructions weren't easy, but not impossible either. Looks fabulous, great quality item. Should have bought this years ago.
