AnswersThe drain assembly is made of metal. As for replacing the lines with shorter ones I can only say as you look inside the faucet assembly you can see where the lines are connected internally but space is very limited which probably makes changing lines impossible.

A very stylish looking faucet that helped update my powder room. Coordinates nicely with the Rustoleum oil-rubbed bronze paint, which we used on the door knob, mirror, and picture frames. The Kohler Alteo faucet is nice looking and easy to install. I give it a one star rating based on quality as received. Despite reading several one star reviews for the Alteo faucets leaking when installed, I bought the Alteo anyway, based on previous good experience with Kohler brand. I noticed the faucet lever moved with almost no resistance and didn't feel right to me. When I turned the water on, water sprayed out from under the handle over much of the room. I removed the handle and eased the water back on to confirm where the leak location. Water was coming up around the valve cartridge stem or lever.
I returned the Kohler and bought a different brand. I expected better quality from Kohler in this price class.
