(What's this)
The Kohler Artifacts Kitchen Faucet is made of high-quality metal and brass, with a chrome finish that is sure to last. Overall, the faucet is relatively easy to install and contains most all the parts needed. I had older (1960) angle stops so I had to replace those for new 3/8" angle stops. I recommend you always replace the angle stops. I was also installing mine into a stainless steel sink. Many times, with these larger faucets it is necessary to use some plywood under the sink to reinforce the thin stainless steel sink. Instead, I purchased the matching 3-hole escutcheon. That gave the mounting platform the support it needed, and it looks great. The best part of this faucet is the intuitive design and function of the valve. Just rotate for temperature adjustments, and lift the handle for water flow. This makes it easy to install in tight spaces, where the backsplash/wall is tight to the sink. The handle will not interfere with the backsplash. Of course it has the three-spray feature (stream, soft spray, sweep spray). And you can obtain other matching kitchen and bathroom faucets and accessories to coordinate the whole house. If you are looking for that classic vintage look for your fixtures, this is the series to get; Artifacts from Kohler.

This faucet looks sharp and is very functional. The simple look really compliments our farmhouse sink and the chrome finish looks very clean. I debated between the coil pull-down sprayer and this faucet and I have no regrets with my choice. It’s easy to clean (I feared the coils would get grimy and be difficult to give a good wipedown). After having a pull-down sprayer in our old kitchen I knew that’s what I wanted. It’s easy to go back and forth between the regular faucet and spraying down the whole sink or a pot or pan. I’m very pleased with it.

Beautiful faucet that pairs perfectly with our new Kohler sink. It's it literally the perfect match of elegance and function. Also more than any other faucet I've owned you can feel that that this is a premium product. It has some heft, the actions feels solid, there is nothing cheap about it. Makes me feel good that it should last a long, long time. Installation was a breeze, particularly because I was installing the sink at the same time. Sprayer patterns are excellent and the retraction action works flawlessly. I still catch myself thinking "it's just a good looking faucet." Very happy!

This faucet is going into my newly remodeled kitchen shortly and so far I can say it’s truly gorgeous! Right out of the box I inspected the chrome and it’s got a deep and clear reflection that shows it is high quality. The handle moves smoothly and the whole unit feels solid. I really like the pull down and how the sprayer feels in your hand. Many other faucets have plastic feeling sprayers but this one is chromed metal and you can tell. I’ve reviewed the instructions and they are very clear. The install should be a breeze with no tricky steps. I’ve done many faucet installs and this is definitely on the easy side of the spectrum. Note: this is a pre-install review. I’ll revise this install when I complete my remodel and get more experience with the faucet.

(What's this)
==== First impressions ==== Box is heavy, so the faucet must be heavy, and it is. Everything was in it's place in the box (or so I thought). Chrome "finish" is vert nice. ==== Installation ==== This is where it all went wrong. I installed the faucet into a stainless sink using a 3-hole escutcheon I already had that matched the sink. There was already a stainless dispenser, so I left it for now until I decide whether to buy a matching one in chrome (I probably won't). The attachment plate that screws onto the brass mounting pipe was a bit tedious to turn the many, many turns to make it tight. It probably wasn't intended for use on such a thin sink. Nevertheless it was effective in clamping the faucet to the stainless sink. Then I attached the water supply line and those went well. But when I attempted to attach the pipe and hose that go to the faucet head, the problem arose. The pipe to the head was a simple copper socket type with no seal apparent and the one to the faucet valve was just a brass tube with no seal. That was obviously not going to work and would not even stay connected. I didn't know how to resolve this so I went online and got the parts diagram for the faucet. It showed a black rubber o-ring seal and a plastic-looking cylindrical piece to go into the connectors. I searched the box and found the two pieces loose under the cardboard nest that carries all the parts. I have no idea why they were not in place on the hoses/pipes or why there was no bag for them. Even when using the diagrams I was unsure how they would fit, so I made an educated guess, fitted them and they did connect the two together and were water tight. The second problem came when I tried to unplug the pipe and hose as described in the assembly instructions. It simply was not possible. Either the parts were not installed in the right positions or the instructions are wrong. So I just pushed the hose loop down the mounting hole and completed the installation. I was going to cut the steel weight for the hose in half so I could fasten it around the hose (is a 1-piece design) but I later realized that I really didn't need to use the weight. It worked satisfactorily without it. I subtracted one star for that connector defect. At the time, I was determined to make this a one-star review but cooled off later. If Kohler wants to rectify this oversight on their part, they can send me a 2-piece weight. I won't hold my breath waiting. ==== Operation ==== This was much much better. The faucet works perfectly. There is a rocker valve on the head that switches from the normal narrow aerated flow to a wide pattern. There is also a button that temporarily changes the pattern to a wide/narrow fan-shaped one. The flow valve works as it should. If anyone wants to mount this faucet with the valve on the left side, it is possible but it will change the operation of the flow control so that you will have to push the lever down to turn on the water and lift it up to turn it off. Of course you would have to remove the handle and re-position it. The spout tube swings easily from side to side but not so easily that it does not stay in place once released. ==== Maintenance/Repair ==== Don't be fooled by the design of the "apparent" fasteners on this faucet. The top of the handle has a cap that looks like it uses a slotted screwdriver to remove but it just pulls up and off to reveal the real screw fastener underneath. And what looks like a nut on the upper part of the cylindrical cover under the handle is fake. Do not use a wrench on this part. Again, just lift the cylindrical cover to remove it. It takes a bit of effort because it has a rubber O-ring inside to keep it in place. ==== Summary ==== Excellent faucet in appearance and operation. Temporarily missing/displaced parts made the installation difficult and time consuming. Choice of two permanent spray patterns and one temporary one.

Beautiful faucet! Great quality Kohler faucet. The design looks amazing in my kitchen and really gives it an updated feel. It sites high off the sink and the sprayer is very convenient. The directions were easy to follow which made the install smooth. It also comes with every thing I needed to complete the installation. I am very pleased with the quality of this purchase.

Phenomenal faucet
Customer review from kohler.com logo
I’ve had this faucet installed since we moved into our new home. Fantastic design and tremendous features. I love how you turn this faucet on and off by lifting the handle (rather than moving the handle away from the faucet on some configurations). My wife chose Polished Nickel finish which looks gorgeous in our kitchen!
