how do i tighen the loose lever handles ? plumber cant find screws to tighten. thanks.
Hi lizNY, this is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I am glad to address your question. If the levers are loose, they can be tightened using a Philips screwdriver. First, unscrew the skirt from the countertop, holding the handle in the off position and turning the skirt counterclockwise by hand. To get a good grip on the skirt, it is recommended to wear a rubber cleaning glove. Once the skirt is unscrewed, the lever will come off with the skirt. Look inside the skirt to find the Philips screw which can be be tightened to fully secure the lever. You can follow the steps in reverse for reassembling the handle. My original question was whether this faucet was any different than the same faucet from a plumbing supply company. First answer from a Kohler rep was that the unit from Home depot has plastic drain pieces that would be metal if purchased from a plumbing supply company. Then another Kohler rep answered saying they were exactly the same and the first answer was removed. So which is it? Is it the exact same or does the one from Home Depot have plastic drain pieces?

Some faucets do have plastic drains; there will likely be an "R" in the model number indicating the faucet is a retail faucet. The length of faucet that is needed for your application is no longer available in the Vibrant French Gold finish. May I suggest the Devonshire K394-4 WHICH HAS A 6 3/8 spout or the Artifact K72760 which has a 6 5/8 spout. Please work with your local Home Depot for pricing and availability on this product.
