Paint is peeling
After a few months of using this the black matte paint is peeling. Posted here early July and got no response. Hoping a resolution can be found.

paint peeling
I bought 2 of these and they work great. They looked great too until the matte black paint started peeling from both of them. I emailed Kohler customer service directly but got no response. So I’m posting here. We don’t wear rings in the shower and we wipe all the hardware with a soft cloth after every use. What can be done about this?

Disappointed
We purchased this grab bar in matte black for our restroom remodel. After a few weeks of having it on the wall tile, the bar has been flaking and the black Matte paint has been coming off...

If you need help getting up.
Nice looking grab bar. I have a weakness in my legs so this bar helps me get up. The actual length of the bar (mounting length) does not always match the template provided. So use the template to get close, then install the mounting hardware using only the one round hole. Then see if the bar fits on the hardware. If so, install the two remaining screws. If not, the hardware can be rotated to give you the right length. When the bar fits, add the two remaining screws per end. Make sure you screw it into a stud.

Nice Looking and Sturdy
I have a weakness in my legs so I use this grab bar to help me get up. I installed it on the wall next to and in front of the toilet. Fit nicely and was sturdy. You need to hit a wall stud to be sure it is securely mounted to the wall. The mounting template supplied may not exactly match the true mounting dimensions, but the mounting brackets can be rotated to fit the bar. Install brackets using only one screw each (not fully tight) and then confirm that the bar fits. Then install & tighten all of the screws. Then mount the bar on the brackets. Tighten the bar set screws. Nice looking bar and works well.
