Ordered 1st sink and while carefully installed corner chipped off on day 2! To replace, had to buy a second and pick it up, uninstall 1st, install new sink and then return chipped sink. Sink is beautiful but replacing it was not fun. Fortunately I could do install or that would have been a double expense. Kohler was no help. Home Depot was great.

Might as well buy 2-3 because at least one will be chipped or cracked. This happened to my friend as well. I got a whole other sink that wasn’t cast iron.

Purchased this cast iron black double sink a few years ago when I was up dating my kitchen. I keep plastic guards in the bottom of the sink but it is still fill of scratches and what was a shinny black finish is a dull black finish. I used kohlers cast iron sink cleaner and it does nothing to help. I tried some other products with no results so I now have a sink that looks beat like it is 30 years old.

unhappy, my name is Jessica with Kohler Customer Service. I am sorry to hear that your sink has lost its luster. To restore the luster to the enamel, make sure that the surface is clean. If necessary, clean the surface with comet or a similar cleanser. Then apply a coating of mild automotive past wax. Buff with a dry, non-abrasive cloth. The following link is to the Care and Cleaning guide for the Cast Iron sinks:https://bit.ly/2ADdECk. Rubber dish mats are not recommended in Kohler sinks. Bacteria can grow under the mats and permanently discolor the enamel. We do advise the use of bottom basin racks to help the sink from scratching. Easy to install and beautiful. This sink has high rims all around to prevent water getting on the counter and a groove inside the rim on the back to allow cleaning faucet parts without getting the counter wet. Also has a low sink divider so that water overflow goes into the other sink.
