Product Overview

This WaterSense-labeled high-efficiency toilet delivers water conservation and easy installation in a sleek, skirted design. The Gleam two-piece skirted toilet utilizes Kohler's patented new ReadyLock installation system for easier, more intuitive installation. The skirted trapway installs to the floor flange and attaches to the toilet, eliminating the need to drill holes for a standard 12" rough-in while still offering the same secure installation as non-skirted toilets.

Great Overall
I love the look, the height, the cool bolt cover flip down in the back, and the easy installation. It has a powerful flush and in 2+ years hasn’t clogged once. Would give it 5 stars if it handled splatters better. I seem to be cleaning the bowl more than I used to.

    nice looking
I love the look, tricky to install but my trick was to use some painters tape to slightly lift the black parts to make it easier to catch them.

Toilet seat falls apart and doesn’t flush well.
The toilet seat fell apart over and over until I glued legos inside to keep them together. It’s a really terrible design, or am I just missing a part? Had this professionally installed by a plumber and ever 6th flush it doesn’t actually flush all the way. Plumber came back to fix it and says we just have to deal with it. Should have gone with a different toilet.

Flow, my name is Jessica with Kohler Customer Service. I am sorry to hear of the troubles you are experiencing with your Gleam toilet. The chain connecting to the trip lever should be taut. If there is any slack, it should be tightened to remove the slack. The water level can also be checked. The water level in the tank should be at the water line which is marked on the inside back wall of the tank or on the flush valve. The refill tube can be checked as well. It should be connected at both ends connecting the fill valve to the center of the canister valve. If either end is disconnected, it should be pushed back into place. In regards to the seat, we would like to speak with you further to verify what part of the seat is falling apart. Please contact our Customer Service team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We look forward to hearing from you soon. - Jessica P. Kohler Customer Service.

        Very weak flush
This toilet is awful. Trying ti figure out how to return it. Got it installed a month ago. We always have to flush twice to completely clear out solid waste. There is so little water in the bowl that toilet paper gets stuck to the sides. And not enough water comes down when you flush to fully rinse out the bowl, so the toilet paper remains stuck there until I get a cup of water and wash it down myself. And the bowl also gets urine stains in it because not enough water is coming down to rinse out the whole toilet bowl. I just called Home Depot and they said they don’t take back used toilets. Called Kohler and left a message. Hopefully they get back to me. I didn’t think a Kohler toilet could be this bad. I’m so disappointed.

No need to lower toilet flange
Thank God for this toilet. When we retiled our bathroom floor, the toilet flange became 1.5” above the floor. This style toilet saved me from having to hire someone to replace the pipe and flange because they were copper and hard to cut. It sits perfectly on the floor and it works like a charm. Unlike the previous toilet, I had to add spacers to fill in the gap. Spacers didn’t work, the toilet didn’t sit right which cracked the inside and eventually started leaking water. I love it

            Very happy with our purchase
Took me a bit to install toilet since it was my first time and wanted to be careful. Was very happy with end result. Flushes well and saves a lot on water in doing so. Looks great and we are happy with the height of the toilet and clean look.

            Tank bracket improperly installed, leaking
Was quite excited about having a new, skirted toilet. Installation was going well until I installed the tank onto the bowl. When the tank was full I noticed water leaking from the tank to bowl gap. I figured I didn't seat the tank gasket correctly so I drained, removed and re-seated the gasket. Nope, still leaking. Tried adjusting the screws attaching the tank to bowl to see if that would help, no luck. Took the tank off again and upon further inspection discovered the tank mounting bracket was not seated properly in that one of the two metal tabs that sit in a depression in the bottom of the tank porcelain was not in place making the bracket sit away from the tank (see labelled picture for the tabs I am speaking of, didn't think to take a picture before I corrected the issue so this is a picture of the toilet underside I found online). Now, rather than have no toilet for who knows how long pursuing a warranty or return I decided to pop the tab into the depression. Voila! The bracket was now flush (but loose) with the tank and I could actually tighten the large white nut more so I figured the canister valve inside the tank wasn't sealed against the inside of the tank which would explain the leak. No again. Still leaking. I wonder if the improper seal from factory permanently warped the canister valve gasket so I will never seal properly. I am going to stop trying to correct the problem as I shouldn't have had to troubleshoot to begin with. Well, I guess I'll contact Kohler and see what they say. I am actually hoping for a solution as I do think I will like the toilet if this issue is resolved, hence the bonus star.
