Q:Purchasing this Prolific 29? under mount workstation. Will have a garbage disposal, since there is only a single sink. seems like I need to decide what type a drain will work with it. Either a disposal type or a strainer type.

Q:I just purchased the 33 Prolific sink K-5540-NA. I want to purchase the Duostrainer sink drain part K-8801 but I want it to match the stainless steel sink. Do I order CP (polished chrome), VS (vibrant stainless) or Bn (brushed nickel)?

Great accessories and size, but scratches really easily
We installed the sink and within a couple of days of regular use, the sink was super scratched. I've had much cheaper stainless steel sinks that held up way better than this one.
If it's so delicate, it should come with a sink grill to protect it.

I LOVE the sink, BUT a small issue i hope Kohler will correct with accessory….
Looks great in our new kitchen remodel. We bought regular cutting board, dish rack, extra large cutting board and work bowls and colander. Only having it about one month and my husband noticed a full length crack in the wood cutting board. I am just getting ready to reach out to Kohler support to see if they will replace the item.

Great accessories
Am so pleased with the purchase of this sink. Love the accessories adding extra work space in my small kitchen. Nice to be able to hide a few dirty dishes when no time to clean up. First rate all around.

Scratched after five months of use
I bought this sink in May of 2020 for my vacation home. It is not used heavily at all. This is what it looks like after about 5 months of use.

Scratches in the sink are normal and will blend in as part of the sink over time. You can reduce minor scratching by using Kohler Stainless Steel Cleaner and a soft cloth, rubbing with the grain of the sink. The use of bottom basin racks and rinse baskets are encouraged. it looks like dirty pot.

We decided on the this sink after seeing it advertised on America’s Test Kitchen and thought it would be perfect for our newly remodeled kitchen. Then the fabricator doing the stone countertops called to inform us that the sink was out of square on two sides. I really wanted this sink so we returned it and ordered another one, hoping that it would be square. The second sink is also out of square but not as much as the first one so we decided to keep it. The photo is of the second sink.

This sink is super awesome with all of it’s versatility. I had a 2 sided sink before, but my husband wanted one big sink when we were updating our kitchen. I compromised when I saw this sink. It allows me to segment work areas, which is how I used our 2 sided sink previously. I love the included colander, racks and cutting board. It’s huge, and looks modern. As other reviews noted, it does scratch, but I expect that with a sink that gets used as much as ours does. Our sink was missing one of the racks, but we were able to get that remedied within a few days with HD customer service. We also connected the sink to a garbage disposal with no problem. All in all, it’s worth the $.

Love this sink. just finished remodeling of the kitchen. It is deep enough for big pots. It isn't to noisy when putting in dishes. It's trays and cutting board are a great addition to this sink. It will fit large pots and pans. Wife loves it.
