AnswersIt depends on your countertop. This is an undermount. So your countertop goes over it. My counter is different than your counter. Or if it’s in an island you could have 2 feet behind the sink

The difference between K-6488-96 and K-5827-96 is the height of the apron and the over all size of the product. K-5827-96 is a self-Trimming® 32-11/16" x 21-9/16" x 9-5/8" under-mount single-bowl sink with tall apron. K-6488-96 is a self-Trimming® 35-1/2" x 21-9/16" x 9-5/8" under-mount single-bowl kitchen sink with short apron. Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

AnswersMy cabinet on the outside was 36. Instead of using 2x4 we used 3/4-1 plywood with veneer one the outside so it looked finished. We put those on both sides of inside of the existing cabinet and and extra support along the back into the studs. No problems at all!!

I’m having a 30” base cabinet installed. My installer says i should get a sink at least 3” less wider than the cabinet. Kohler does not make a 27”.

Love this sink it is absolutely beautiful easy to install if your handy. The sink weights a lot so it is a two person job and definitely recommend bracing. The instructions were pretty clear the only piece we missed was the notch at the front did not make sense at first but we got it. The price was high in my opinion but it was cheaper than buying new cabinets for an entire kitchen.

This installation replaced my stainless steel sink and fit perfectly in the prefab cabinets. I removed the sink and cut out enough of the counter to do the installation because we are replacing our counter tops with granite and the person measuring for the new counters needed the sink in place before the measurements could begin. I followed the instructions and all went very well. I am not a contractor but have done construction work when I was young so prior knowledge helped but I think just about any DIY'er could handle the job. Can't wait to see how it will look with the new counter tops and faucet!

BUYER BEWARE! KOHLER SOLD DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AS NEW!
Within 3 weeks of installation, a small crack developed underneath the enamel in the lower left corner of the sink. Called Kohler to report this problem and to their credit immediately issued an exchange letter. They would not however, pay for the replacement labor as stated in their warranty (as this is an under mount sink, the granite countertop would have to be removed for the sink to be replaced.) OK. Called contractor and the labor charge for removal and reinstallation and plumbing of the sink would be over $800. Upon removal of the sink it was noticed that behind the rear left side of the sink (where crack appeared) someone at the factory tried to weld an imperfect casting of the sink. On top of that, they then tried to enamel over the original crack (see pictures). Kohler sold me a defective product!!
Over the past years I have spent thousands on Kohler products but if this is a representation of their quality control, then this is the end. If you do decide to purchase this or any other Kohler product, look it over inside and out before you install it. Their quality is not to be trusted and cost me over $800 to have the work redone.

Love it!
We are in the process of renovating a 160+ year old historic house and have searched high and low for products that will maintain the historic integrity yet provide us with the functionality and convenience of modern updates. We purchased this sink, along with granite counter tops through Home Depot and could not be more happy with our purchases and the end result. This sink not only gives the look of a high end product, but is extremely solid and allows for the look of the farmhouse sink without having to alter pre-existing standard cabinets. Would not only highly recommend this product, but Home Depot in general for any of your future home renovations!
