Hi. We purchased a Whitehaven 33" - gorgeous sink with a smooth apron front but on install realized it was the wrong size. Then purchased the Whitehaven 36". It fits but the Apron-Front is dimpled. The display in the store was as well. I wanted a smooth finish and I would like to know if this is a defect flaw or a design? If a design, what style will give me the same features but with a smooth front. Thanks for your time.
Asked by: Stef
It's the design. Not a flaw.

Can you please tell me where to purchase the sink rack that will fit this sink?

Asked by: Cgb
I purchased the stainless steel sink rack online from Home Depot. It was shipped directly to the store where I picked it up. It is model #K-6639-ST. I have had it for one year and it was one of the best decisions I made. It fits like a glove, helps protect the sink, easy to clean, the rubber feet are a plus, and worth every penny.

My wife and I are building our forever home, so we needed something that would last. We both liked the look of an apron sink. I'm a big fan of Kohler products, made in the USA by an American company. The finish is beautiful, everyone who notices it comments, but its not something that jumps up and smacks you in the face either. Be sure to get the right apron height for your cabinet, there is a 9" front and a 7" front. The single bowl is great for soaking large dishes and pans. It is expensive, but this is one case where I really think you get what you pay for. When people say "they don't make them like they used to", clearly they never saw this sink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Centerpiece of our kitchen We are so pleased with our farmhouse sink. It’s a bit pricey but absolutely beautiful and worth every penny as the focal point of our brand new kitchen. It looks amazing in our white kitchen with our shaker cabinets. The slope of the sink helps water and scraps drain easily (we have a garbage disposal) and the big basin is great for washing large pots and pans. It's also comforting to know that for such an expensive item, it is backed by a great warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Kitchen Addition I love the look and design of this sink! It has the temporary "modern farm house feel" with out all of the kitchen modifications/ adjustments that would usually come with installing a farm house sink. I mentioned it has a farm house feel, but it is not as deep as a farm house sink (this is why those adjustments don't have to be made. The white glossy finish is so easy to keep clean and looks nice and fresh. Note: installation will most likely require two people due to the size and weight of the product, however the effort is worth it! Once you get it installed you will be glad you did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and Functional Apron-Front Sink If you’re looking for a great apron-front cast iron sink at a reasonable price, this is the one. We’ve had an undermount cast iron sink in our 1940’s craftsman kitchen for the past decade and so we’ve gotten to know what doesn’t work when it comes with large sinks. The Whitehaven addresses all those points. First, the floor of the sink has the right amount of slope. Having a large sink without enough slope is a real pain because you spend a lot of time scooping and sweeping things like errant coffee grounds into the drain. Second, for an undermount sink it’s a real pain to have a lip around the inside edge as dirt tends to accumulate there as well. This sink allows you to mount it flush below the opening so that’s not a problem. Finally, it can be a challenge working an apron-front sink into an existing set of cabinets. In this case the Whitehaven is a perfect choice. You have a template to guide cutting out the face of your cabinets below the old sink. The apron-front has an overlap so that your rough cut opening is hidden and doesn’t have to be perfect. In terms of supporting the sink, rather than suspending it from the counter top it also has support points so that you can put studs under the sides so the weight is carries straight downwards. All of those put together make this ideal for a retro-fit. The finish on the sink is beautiful. I’ve thoroughly inspected it and don’t see any flaws. This thing is a beast and looks like it’ll last for another 80 years at least. The instructions are clear and there’s are nice full size templates for cutting the face of your cabinets and for cutting the opening in your counter top. The only concern I have is how the sink ships. It’s about 140 lbs. but it comes in just a cardboard box with some minimal pieces of foam and cardboard reinforcements at the corners. The carrier broke two sinks before I was able to get one delivered intact. That one only arrived in good shape because they took the already large box and put it in a larger box with expanding foam around it! Perhaps it’s just my local guy but he had a tendency to drop the sink box onto our porch and at that point the sink flexes and the porcelain cracks. So now I just need to figure out to do with two extra sinks that have severe cracking. It looks like at least one other reviewer here had the same experience so I’d really like to see Kohler address this issue. Note: this is a pre-install review. I’ll revise this review once I have installed and lived with the sink for a while.

We purchased this sink during our recent kitchen remodel because Kohler was the only manufacturer with a shorter apron front that would fit our existing cabinetry, and I grew up with the Kohler brand. My father is a plumbing contractor (35 years). Kohler was THE BRAND to buy if you wanted quality. Installed, this sink is beautiful. Sadly, the chips started showing up on the right, inside edge after just 2 weeks. Not on the sink bottom where you might expect them. They're small, but quite visible to me. From my experience, this sink cannot stand up to light use let alone normal use. We even had the "be nice to the sink" talk with the family before we used it for the first time. Imagine, if you will, a small group of people huddled around the sink for training on how to place items in it to prevent damage. That's what we did! Absurd, really, how much effort we've put into caring for this sink to prevent chips. I checked Kohler's warranty and they'll fix it, if you're willing to remove your countertops so they can take the sink out. The cost and logistics of doing so make this an impossible request, which I assume Kohler knows and appears to use to their advantage. For $1000, you'd think the glaze would be better. So, incredibly disappointed. Buyer BEWARE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING!!! We love this sink. We previously had a stainless steel apron-front sink. We love how this one performs compared to our old one. It drains much easier and doesn't leave behind food or dirty dish water. The edges of the sink are easier to keep clean. So far the finish is holding up and not showing any signs of wear. We also love the look and receive multiple compliments from guests. It was very easy to install. Huge improvement over our previous sink.

This sink was my second choice after the original sink I ordered was slightly too wide to fit my cabinet. I liked the design with a simple front and single basin, and it's also nice that it comes in many color choices. The template that comes with it to cut the front of your cabinet is nice. Instead of just a piece of paper that most companies use and are ofter hard to work with, it's a pre-cut piece of cardboard making it easy and sturdy to tape on, thus making a nice clean line easy to draw on. The sink is extremely heavy. Not only do I think it would be unsafe to try to mount alone, I think it would be impossible unless you're Andre the Giant. Now all of this is great, but I need to explain my 2 star ranking. First off, I don't like the Kohler badge inside the sink on the back wall. I understand they want to brand themselves, but with a design that's meant to be minimalistic, and with this being a "high-end" piece, I find that tacky. No other high end brand puts their name on a badge in the most noticeable place, and most don't have it anywhere noticeable at all. That's minus 1 star. Also, and I didn't notice this until I got it outside of the box and mounted it and the kitchen window shined through and light hit it - there are cracks all over inside one of the corners. On the photos you can see them, and also see that this was brand new placed (I didn't even have the protective film off yet, and you can see I don't even have counters yet). The cracks were originally very light, but I as I rubbed on them they got darker and more noticeable (probably dirt from my fingers getting into the cracks). Now, if I were to just have this sink for decoration, and never ever EVER use it, the cracks would probably remain somewhat small and hard to notice. However, I plan on actually using the sink, and know they're going to get worse and spread. Not what you would expect from a thousand dollar sink. Now you could say "well maybe he got a bad one." And yea, maybe, but is that a chance you want to take? Do you want to risk buying a "high-end" sink, waiting for it to be delivered, using the template and cutting the hole for the apron, mounting your cabinet, adding inside supports, lifting and placing the fixture, all to find out you have to take it out, return it, have the frustration and cost of shipping or cost of time and gas to go return it to Home Depot all to buy a replacement that may have the same issue? This took 2 weeks to get to me, so this'll be another 2 weeks I'll have to go without counters as I wait for the replacement. It's great Kohler stands by their product with a 1 year warranty, and I can get a replacement at no additional cost, but what I won't get back is my time and frustration. Minus 2 more stars, and I can't recommend this product because I wish I would have never purchased it to begin with.
