There have been so many projects that this tool could have helped me. It has a stainless steel blade with the numbers etched instead of printed. So they won't rub off. The angles marked are10, 15, 22.5, 36, 45, and 50 degrees. The tool is certified for perfect 90 degrees. The weight of it keeps it from sliding around. There is a plastic grip for lining it up for marking your piece. There is a pencil hole for your marking point. This tool is small enough to fit easily into your tool kit and very useful. There is also a keyhole for hanging it on a pegboard. It comes with a 2-year warranty.

Review from an active DIYer: This try /miter square worked well when I needed to transfer lines and draw a straight line. I gave it a 4 because marking the angles is was a little cumbersome to me. Maybe it is user error, but I felt that for the angles it would have been helpful if the square had notches or holes in it to easily mark the angle points. More In Depth Review: I used this while making the frame for a box. After making my marks I use this square mark my lines all the way across. The stock served it's purpose and stabilized the square as I held it flush to my work piece For the angles, I found it helpful to mark a point where I wanted the angle, then using the pivot point on the stock, set up the desired angle I wanted and mark two points, one on the top of the square and the other on the bottom. Then I used the flat side of the square to connect the two points and made the line as long I needed. This worked well for me, see the picture below

8 inch Legend Try & Miter Square. Plastic base gives you a stable condition when placing it against your wood piece. Also has flats for 22.5, 45 and 67.5 degrees but the flats for 22.5 and 67.5 are short so you have to be careful to hold the miter in place. Has a pencil notch to mark one end and the graduations on the other. Inch measurements only, no mm. You can measure from the bottom and the top of the plastic base. Ruler markings on both sides of the miter. With the wide base, I also use it to confirm my table saw blade, sander table, etc are at 90 degrees.

I recently replaced my old steel and rosewood square with a new Kapro Try Square. My old square had tarnished to the point where it was extremely hard to read. The Kapro square is stainless steel so I do not feel I will have any rusting or tarnishing problems in the future. I like the deeply etched numbers and fraction lines as I do not use a pencil when marking the wood - instead I use a utility knife. By placing the knife blade into one of the etch lines and making a mark allows me to make extremely accurate cuts. I also like the 22.5 & 45 degree angles - something my old square could never do.

This 8 in. Ledgend Try and Mitre Square with Stainless Steel Blade by Kapro is a very handy square. I do woodworking so it will get used a lot. The blade is made of stainless steal so you don't have to worry about it rusting if it should get wet. Etched in the blade are lines to make angles at 22.5, 45 and 67.5 degrees. The blade is also etched in inch's and CM's. The handle has a support ledge that helps to keep the square firmly against the work piece.

Nice concept but the plastic edge isn't straight so it rocks when you put it against an edge. that's not accurate enough for me

Combining the features of a try square and a miter square plus some additional helpful information, this a truly unique tool. There is an 8" rule and 6 !/2 cm rule clearly marked on both sides along with additional marks for 10,15,22.5,30,36,45 and 50 degree marks. The handle has cuts allowing precise positioning for 90,45 and 22.5 degrees. The blade is stainless steel, thermo-bonded to a structural foam handle.

My wife got me this tool because she knows I am a tool nut.Do mostly wood working and enjoy the pleasure of it all. I have several different tools dealing with the squaring and set of wood, so a 'new' tool sounded great to me... On the package it says " unique support ledge, stays in place". A very nice catchy phrase. Well it doesn't seem to work that well when you try anything but 90 degrees. I worked with this unit for 25 to 30 minutes to get the feel of using it and for any advantage over other squares. My wife then found a U Tube video on this tool by the company, which was of no use,I still didn't see how you could use it. I then tested accuracy for a saw set up on my miter saw. It did not fair to well, off just enough to create aggravation. Not a tool for me!!

The 8 inch Ledgend Try & Mitre Square w/Stainless Steel Blade is a great addition to my shop. Don't let it's compact size deceive you. The stout stainless steel ruler is attached very securely to the durable hard plastic handle that fits well in your hand. It sports a support ledge on the handle so it will stay square even hands free. The blade is permanently etched with markings for beveling and framing.
