The drywall lifter (green parts) were one of the reasons i bought it, but they are already should signs of fatigue on the lift points (white stress). This is why i am giving it a 4 start. Also, the top handle should be curved away from the drywall because as i lift, the back of my hand is constantly hitting the drywall. Drywall does not slip, you can stand the carrier and lift the drywall into it no problem.

I'm sure seasoned drywall installers will scoff at this, but as a 59 year-old DIY homeowner, this was such a help. Both for drywall and plywood. It gives just that little bit of extra reach to make carrying both as effortless as it can be, minus the weight of course. The carrier has a nicely curved handle that gets your fingers away from the sheet itself while providing a comfortable grip. It still takes two hands, but it's a lot easier. I suggest to anyone that wants to use this for any significant amount of material to place the long end it on 2x4s so it's easier to get the carrier underneath it. The unit also comes with a set of spacers that help to set the drywall up off the floor a bit. They lock into the carrier itself, but I had a difficult time remembering to put them back after use. I suppose after awhile it might just become habit, but I ended up looking for them from time to time. I actually found it easier to just lay them on the floor where I was going to put the next sheet when I took them out, until I was done.

It does allow one person to carry a sheet of drywall. I guess maybe I was expecting more out of this tool. It is still difficult to use as you have to cross your free arm over to your opposite shoulder to support the sheet of drywall. Maybe, there is just no good or easy way to carry a 4x8 sheet of drywall by a single individual. Usually, I have another person assist me in carrying and positioning a full sheet. I was hoping this tool would make it an easy one person job and allow me to do my drywall work without the need to ask for assistance. I still need someone to hold the door for me and help guide me through narrow passageways. I would recommend this tool with some reservation, so that others know that this drywall carrier is not a perfect solution to a bulky job.

Every now and then you stumble on a tool that you wish you had decades ago. I've munged up some good sheets of drywall trying to move them around by myself because I was too lazy to call a buddy to come help, or in too much of a hurry to try and convince my wife to help me carry the sheet. I was a little shocked at home small and unimpressive this carrier looks, but five minutes with it had me convinced. It stands upright by itself, which allows you to slide or position a sheet of drywall on to it. You pick it up with the handle on your side of the sheet and allow the sheet to lean against your side. It's a touch awkward but still considerably easier than trying to bare hand the sheets. I have a different carrier that I like t use on plywood sheets. That one clamps the top of the board and allows you to use a different set of muscles that make moving heavy boards easier. However, that clamping carrier has a nasty habit of snapping drywall panels. This style of carrier is much safer and has zero chance of damaging the panel (unless you let go of it). It includes some nice drywall shims, they came in handy - but they also seem like the kind of thing I will lose quickly. All around, I'm very impressed by this carrier - and it's cheap enough that everyone should just have one laying around the shop.

I have had a drywall carrier for many years now, so I was curious to see what a new one looked like. I was very pleasantly surprised. The handle gives more room for my fingers (I have very large hands, and the old one had a serious pinch problem under certain conditions),and it will stand by itself (no need to hold on to it while leveraging the sheetrock into position). As a bonus, they include 2 spacers (which, conveniently, store in the housing, so that I don't have to mess with shims to hold the sheetrock off the floor. They are curved, so it is extremely easy to remove the spacers once they've done their job.

It is designed to make it easier for one person to carry a sheet of drywall, or other wallboard. Using it helps balance the board for carrying and avoids over extending your arm/shoulder. When placed under the board edge, the board is not damaged. When looking at the item, it doesn't look like much, but it works well.

This is a good way to carry drywall if you are trying to move it on your own. I was very skeptical about this, it does not look very sturdy but it does an amazing job. The drywall carrier also comes with a pair of drywall wedges for setting your sheet height from the floor. My back is not good enough to use this but our 20 yr old son got to put it to the test.

Substantial material. Good hand clearance. A 4-foot sheet is a very awkward carry. I finally got the obvious helper: a panel hook. This makes it easy to hold onto a 4x8 sheet without another person. And reduces heavy panels slipping from your straining grasp to damage the panels or your toes. The shape and size is well considered. It gives a good lift without quite banging your knuckles into the sheet. It is wide enough for some stability. The material seems very sturdy, stronger than I can break, and strong enough for job-site chaos. The panel surface is lightly ribbed to reduce panel sliding. A bonus is two spacers you put between the floor and the panel, before screwing, to allow for shrinkage or settlement. These snap out and in quite easily, convenient!
