    Q:I can't quite tell from the photos... Are the hooks on the Keeper 47370 vinyl coated, or painted steel?

    A:  The hooks are painted steel. Only have about a week but the 4 times I used it haven’t scratched the paint. Seems very durable despite not being coated.

    A:  The Hooks on the 47370 are black painted, they are NOT vinyl coated.

      Q:Would these straps be able to hold down a tarp on a motorhome to keep the roof from leaking.

      A:  It is certainly strong enough, but I think that it would be more efficient and economical to use 'bungy cords', elastic ropes with hooks at the ends. This ratchet tie down is more for keeping loads in place when transporting them.

        A:  Absolutely, hopefully you bought a heavy duty tarp. I’m not sure the hooks would fit into the grommet hole of your tarp as these are heavy duty straps

            A:  I wouldn't use this strap for that application.

            A:  I am not an expert. I think that if 2 or 3 of these were to be used in the proper links (the ones that chains would be used in) it would probably work. The belts are much longer than tie-down chains, that would probably make that solution very cumbersome. I don't think that I would recomend lt.

              A:  Hi Aaron, Yes it should work for strapping down a car as long as you don't exceed the 3,333 lbs. working load limit.

                A:  Yes, I use them all the time to haul wrecked vehicles. I also use one heavy chain with load binder to make sure it can't roll off the trailer. I have never had one come loose. I hauled a Dodge Ram 1500 from Georgia to Michigan.

                A:  I am not sure what the law says for using ratchet straps to strap down a vehicle. But this strap has a 10,000 lb breaking strength but you are only suppose to ratchet down 3,000 lbs.

                This was a replacement strap for a HF strap that was rated for 3333lbs that had a faulty mechanism this one is more than capable of it's rating and beyond you can use it confidently for whatever application the mechanism is well constructed holds it's progress against the weight limit and releases with ease.

                  Strong, Easy to use, I want to get more of these!
                  I use rachet straps often. I recently got this particular item and used it for strapping down one of my chicken Coop enclosures during the hurricane winds. It had no problem doing the job. Super easy to use and doesn't feel cheap like some of the models I've used like this. I would get more of these for sure!

                    Used it to strap tarps on top of equipment on an open trailer I tow and it did great.

                      Solid tie down, the hooks are beefy and heavy duty the material is durable, the hardware is well made. It's a little cumbersome to secure, but it's give and take for its capacity potential.

                        Great!
                        If you are looking for a strap that is heavy duty and made durable, this is it. It would be perfect for a bigger and heavier load and would not have to worry. The material and and handle is the best part. It allows you to feel like your load is secure and also easy to use. It will do exactly what you are looking for and more.

                            Great strap!
                            The strap is good for large, bulky, and heavy loads. Once the load is secured I know it wont shift, and the strap will not break.

                              This strap is good for large, bulky, or heavy loads. Once your load is secure you dont have to worry about load shifts. The pictures show an awkward load being held securely.

                                  Hella nice ratchet strap!
                                  I had to secure my quad to the trailer and it performed better than expected! The coated ratchet keeps the moving parts from getting rusted, the hook ends are way more handy than the flat, curved type. The only thing I didn't like about these straps was the camo color. It made it hard to keep an eye on the trap in the rear view mirror vs the brightly colored webbing.
