For a raised bed, follow the directions on the back of the bag for in-ground planting since the raised bed is a good size - add 1-2 cups for every 10 sqft of growing area and work into the soil.
Follow the instructions on the label based on whether you planted in a container or in-ground. This will determine how much to feed. We like to recommend feeding every 5-6 weeks during the growing season.
There are no chemicals in Kellogg Garden Organics Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer, only natural and organic ingredients. The ingredient formulation consists of bone meal, dried poultry manure, feather meal, kelp meal, alfalfa meal and potassium sulfate.
The NPK is found in the Guaranteed Analysis box on the back of the package. Kellogg Garden Organics Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer has an NPK of 4-6-3.
Organic fertilizers can be very forgiving due to their natural ingredient formulation. So, adding a little extra will not be harmful to your plants. We recommend mixing 1/2 cup for every 1/2 cubic foot into the soil. Don't forget to supplement your organic granular fertilizer with an organic liquid fertilizer like Fish & Kelp for the best results.
Kellogg Garden Organics Tomato, vegetable & Herb Fertilizer is OMRI Listed. This link will take you to the OMRI Product Listing site where all the Kellogg OMRI Listed products can be found under the company name, Kellogg Garden Products. https://www.omri.org/sites/default/files/opl_pdf/CompleteCompany-NOP.pdf
The granular fertilizer bags should have an expiration date that is two years from the date it was produced.
If you can, put down used coffee grounds (from your pot). The ants do not like them. I read this online and tried it around my cantaloupe and it worked great.
You can but you don't know what your NPK is of your compost tea. Even though both your tea and the Kellogg's are organic and therefore time released, you may be putting an abundance of one nutrient on unnecessarily.
We wouldn't recommend it. Organic fertilizers work best when they're able to interact with soil biology, which won't be present in standing water.
