Did I read correctly that it's about 1 cup per cubic foot? So if I have a 4x4x1 raised bed I need...

Asked by B3ntw00ki3 August 20, 2020
1
Answer

For a raised bed, follow the directions on the back of the bag for in-ground planting since the raised bed is a good size - add 1-2 cups for every 10 sqft of growing area and work into the soil.

how often should you feed this fertilizer to your vegetables? and how much to each plant per feeding?

Asked by Ray June 15, 2020
1
Answer

Follow the instructions on the label based on whether you planted in a container or in-ground. This will determine how much to feed. We like to recommend feeding every 5-6 weeks during the growing season.

what is the chemical formula?

Asked by Yarrowlen May 18, 2020

Answer

There are no chemicals in Kellogg Garden Organics Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer, only natural and organic ingredients. The ingredient formulation consists of bone meal, dried poultry manure, feather meal, kelp meal, alfalfa meal and potassium sulfate.

I have a 4 feet by 4 feet raising bed. Is it ok to use whole bag or that is too much?

Asked by Yang April 4, 2020
1
Answer

Organic fertilizers can be very forgiving due to their natural ingredient formulation. So, adding a little extra will not be harmful to your plants. We recommend mixing 1/2 cup for every 1/2 cubic foot into the soil. Don't forget to supplement your organic granular fertilizer with an organic liquid fertilizer like Fish & Kelp for the best results.

The granular fertilizer bags should have an expiration date that is two years from the date it was produced.

When I added the fertilizer to my plants, it attracted ants! Is there anything I can do to change this or to avoid it?

Asked by Lora September 22, 2016

Answers

If you can, put down used coffee grounds (from your pot). The ants do not like them. I read this online and tried it around my cantaloupe and it worked great.

Can you mix this in to your compost tea to water your plants with

Answers

You can but you don't know what your NPK is of your compost tea. Even though both your tea and the Kellogg's are organic and therefore time released, you may be putting an abundance of one nutrient on unnecessarily.

Can i add this to my drip container under my pot. I ask this because roots have come thru to there. Also i used kellogg

Asked by Chew June 14, 2016

Answer

We wouldn't recommend it. Organic fertilizers work best when they're able to interact with soil biology, which won't be present in standing water.

Best tomato crop we've ever had
First time using this, we are having the highest tomato yields ever! In addition I used Miracle Grow garden soil, some Ironite and bit of soil sulfur flakes all dug with native soil . Then mulched with Cedar mulch (repels water) "Patio" variety tomatoes.

Planted my veggies in garden soil, and after a month, they were languishing. Sprinkled an appropriate amount of this, watered it in, and next morning there was appreciable improvement. Flowers opening, new leaves sprouting. The veggies and I are both happier.
