Start button suddenly stopped working.

Display doesn’t last
This is the second one I’ve owned, as it’s built into the cabinets with a frame kit. The display stopped working after only 2 years. I’ve reset the breaker, unplugged and replugged, nothing. Same thing happened on the first one. Very disappointed in the quality of this product.

Junk
Microwave just quit working at 3 years old and can’t be fixed. It’s no longer offered so we have to buy another one with a new trim kit. All kitchen aid appliances have turned into junk.

Expensive and terrible
Terrible - installed in a brand new build in 2019 and has already failed causing giant noise and sparks inside about every other time it’s used without any metal objects involved.

Control panel failure
Terrible microwave. We had the first one went out when the control panel would no longer work. We got another one just like it and the same exact thing happened again. Kitchen aid knows there is a problem and does nothing to correct it.

it won't last.
This microwave came with our new house. After 5 years the button to open it broke and the numbers 5 and 6 are inoperable. It can not be fixed and since it is a built-in above our oven there are NO replacement alternatives. All of our other appliances are also Kitchen Aid, we hope they last longer. We expected more from a Kitchen Aid appliance. Do not get one of these.

DO NOT BUY
I have purchased two of these microwaves, and both of them have broken in the same way. The start button stops working (as in can't turn it on in any way), the door open button breaks, and the digits start disappearing.

Goes downhill quickly after just a few years
This microwave works for a few years and then tanks pretty quickly. We've had the same issues that so many others have commented already. Broken release button (see photo), several of the buttons just randomly don't work, the surround to make it a built-in has developed little chips/divots, etc. (without us damaging it...almost a weird wearing issue). With as expensive as this product was, and knowing the quality that is typically KitchenAid, we didn't expect this at all.

Faulty - dont buy close out.
Just stopped working!! Touchpad doesn’t work anymore and when you close the door it goes on automatically. We are afraid to take it out of built in cabinet and shut off the power/outlet. Now have to try to find a new one that has the same measurements to fit into cabinet.
