Great stripper but you Pay to play
Great stripper if you have to use one but it is overpriced everywhere. It works quickly do not wait 15 mins or you will be starting all over. I needed something to remove what I truly believe was 60 years of paint, and kleen stripper is doing the job. 2 gallons for all walls and 2 doors, doors and trim, trim of 2 windows, base boards and radiator covers. Wear protective gloves, and long sleeves and pants to avoid contact with skin. I think it is very expensive product but it works, I have tried others that basically turned colors, then you remove the paint they didnnt work as well. I gave 4 stars because of the price.

Use it or lose it!!!
I got 4 cans of this on April 3, 2019 and didn't use as much as I expected, so I put the remainder in my basement. I just went down to my basement on an unrelated matter, and found that my one open can and the 2 remaining UNOPENED cans had leaked everywhere causing a huge mess. My basement is relatively dry and has good air circulation, and nothing else that is kept down there has ever shown any sign of moisture related problems (rust, mold, mildew, etc.) In my opinion, this should never have happened in the course of only 2 years. My suggestion to the company would be to start using plastic instead of metal, especially considering how caustic the substance is. I originally gave this product high marks, but after this, I had no choice but to change it!

Easy to apply, using on n coated porcelain tub, used 2 storage coats. Instructions said 45 minutes, but you need to let it sit and work fir at least 2 hours on each coat. Make sure the room is well ventilated also, but in the end, it did the job very well. Pulled multiple coats off my bathtub

This product did a good job for the intended purpose. It needs to be applied liberally to remove multiple layers of paint. I used this to remove old porch paint and the top layers removed quickly with the stripper. I found that the applying liberal amounts of the stripper penetrated multiple layers. After 45 minutes you could scrap the enamel paint, but since the porch had over 16 layers of paint on it, I had to scrap and apply three times to get down to the last 5 or 6 layers of paint. The older paint seemed unaffected by this stripper and I had to strip the porch with a drum sander. This was an effective product for stripping. Apply liberally for multiple coats. If you have the time, let it sit longer than 45 minutes, seems to be more effective if it does sit for a couple of hours. Did not seem to be near as effective on older paint (60+ years).

This paint remover works and is among the best dried paint removers currently sold in the market. Be sure and have adequate ventilation but more importantly use thick rubber gloves and be prepared to toss the gloves away after your project as you don’t really want this stuff around kids and pets. Be sure and also cover areas which you might drop or spill any of this product as it is quite caustic. The stuff works however be prepared to also have lots and lots of scrapers and 3M scotchbrite pads which work amazingly well with this stripper. Pictures show my door threshold after one fairly thick application allowing it to sit and perform it’s magic. Depending home many coats of dried paint you wish to remove will determine how many re-applications are required for a realistic outcome. Set aside a undisturbed afternoon for this and you will not be disappointed.

I had some mixed results using this stripper, I tried removing factory paint from a 50 year old tool box in order to restore it. It took multiple applications to get down to the steel, which I was surprised about. I scuffed the paint with 80 grit sandpaper to open up the paint to the stripper and applied a liberal coating to a small area. I let it sit about 20 minutes and I removed most of the paint. i had to repeat the application and was able to finish the area. This was an old craftsman tool box and the paint is not what you would consider tough like an urethane or epoxy, so that was the basis for my 4 star rating. I did not try this on varnish or poly, but it was satisfactory for the job i was doing. overall it worked pretty good and it did strip the paint. i would personally try a stronger stripper next time

I received the KLEAN-STRIP 1 GAL. PREMIUM PAINT REMOVER AND STRIPPER to test for Home Depot. It does strip finishes fairly well. This is not what a professional would use. It takes a lot of scrubbing along with the stripper. Be sure you wear gloves and have plenty of ventilation. I used it to strip an old child's rocker. (See below). I was happy with the results.

Klean-Strip 1 gal. Premium Paint Remover and Stripper. The write up says it is the most powerful striper for the toughest jobs. It is to remove multiple layers of paint, both latex and oil based paints. It is to remove polyurethane, epoxy, varnish and shellac. It is to work on oil paints in 15 min. on latex 45 on oil and alkyd paints. A plastic scraper is to be used to protect the wood grain. Proper ventilation to be used. This product failed miserably. It made the surface gummy and did not strip at all. A scrapper would have done better. It did not raise the grain of the wood or the paint either. I would not recommend this product.

We found the Klean-Strip 1 gal. Premium Paint Remover and Stripper to be w workable solution for many applications. We decided to test the remover and stripper for a pickup truck toolbox that has been in the family for many years and needed some TLC. After applying according to the instructions, we tried to strip off the old paint that was degraded with some rust areas. We were able to remove the top layer of paint and most of the rusted areas fairly easily, but it did not remove all layers to the base metal. We would recommend this product where there was a single layer of paint or where you are simply preparing the product for repainting.

This is a unique review as I actually selected two paint strippers to compare. Unfortunately, the weather has not cooperated for me to be able to test outside where I wanted to test. Don't worry, as I had another area to test. I recently spray painted a trailer in the garage not realizing the overspray was coating the garage floor. I also had a piece of decorative wood left from another project. Here are my results. This product worked much faster than the other product. It also dries faster, so you have to work with it as instructed. This product cut through the extra layers of the paint on the wood board better than the other. It did cut through the paint on the masonry, but did not seem to clear it away as easily. Part of that could be due to me not wiping it away immediately as I was trying to compare based on time. I still really liked this product. Depending on your project and how much you have to strip away, this stuff works great. Especially if you want to get to work removing the layers of paint quickly. I can't wait to try this on the masonry outside that the stain from the deck got on. It has been too cold to try, but I feel this stuff will remove it quickly. I would recommend this product. This is the product on the right in the pictures.
