A:  Kerosene is a light fuel and burns hotter than a heating oil.  Kerosene should not be used in a lamp designed for using oil.

          The kerosene was just fine. The heater that I rented from Home Depot had a bad thermostat. I wasn’t charged for the rental, but I lost an hour+ driving back and forth and now I have nearly a gallon of kerosene and no use for it.
